Finite-Time Observers: Application to Secure Communication [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2008
In this paper, control theory is used to formalize finite time chaos synchronization as a nonlinear finite time observer design issue. This paper introduces a finite time observer for nonlinear systems that can be put into a linear canonical form up to output injection.

A distributed finite-time observer for linear systems [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017
In this paper, the problem of distributed estimation for a linear large-scale system is studied. A nonlinear distributed observer is proposed, whose estimation error converges to zero in a finite time. A fixed-time converging version of the observer is also presented. The efficiency of estimators is demonstrated by computer simulations.

Finite-Time Disturbance Observer of Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesSymmetry, 2022
In practical applications, for highly nonlinear systems, how to implement control tasks for dynamic systems with uncertain parameters is still a hot research issue. Aiming at the internal parameter fluctuations and external unknown disturbances in nonlinear system, this paper proposes an adaptive dynamic terminal sliding mode control (ADTSMC) based on ...

A Finite-Time Fault-Tolerant Control Using Non-Singular Fast Terminal Sliding Mode Control and Third-Order Sliding Mode Observer for Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, a fault-tolerant control (FTC) method for robotic manipulators is proposed to deal with the lumped uncertainties and faults in case of lacking tachometer sensors in the system.

Design of a distributed finite-time observer using observability decompositions [PDF]

open access: yes2019 18th European Control Conference (ECC), 2019
In this paper, a distributed observer is presented to estimate the state of a linear time-invariant plant in finite-time in each observer node. The design is based on a decomposition into locally observable and unobservable substates and on properties of homogeneous systems.

Finite-time observer design of a class of nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences
We consider the problem of global finite-time stability for a class of nonlinear systems. The novelty in this paper is to consider a nonlinear finite time observer design, which introduces a finite-time observer for nonlinear systems that can be put into

Finite time estimation through a continuous‐discrete observer [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2018
SummaryWe study two broad classes of nonlinear time‐varying continuous‐time systems with outputs. For the first class, we build an observer in the case where a state dependent disturbance affects the linear approximation. When the disturbances are the zero functions, our observer provides exact values of the state at all times larger than a suitable ...

Robust Finite-Time Output Feedback Control for Systems With Unpredictable Time-Varying Disturbances

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This work presents a robust finite-time output feedback control method for a number of nonlinear systems that suffer unpredictable time-varying disturbances. The developed method takes advantage of control techniques based on a finite-time state observer
