WHISPER: A Tool for Run-Time Detection of Side-Channel Attacks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
High resolution and stealthy attacks and their variants such as Flush+Reload, Flush+Flush, Prime+Probe, Spectre and Meltdown have completely exposed the vulnerabilities in Intel's computing architecture over the past few years.

Evaluation of the methods for first flush analysis in urban watersheds

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2003
The general tendency between the ratio of cumulative pollutant loads and the ratio of cumulative runoff appears as a nonlinear form which can be expressed in the form of a third polynomial. In this paper third degree polynomials were applied to represent the first flush curves based on the relationship between the cumulative pollutant load ratio and ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The first application of flush probe arrays on HL-3 tokamak

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Newly flush-mounted Langmuir probe arrays are fabricated and applied in the HL-3 tokamak to investigate its advanced divertor physics such as snowflake and tripod divertors.

Behaviour of Flush End-Plate Connection for Perforated Section [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering Heritage Journal, 2017
This paper presents the study on the behaviour of the beam to column connection by using flush end plate connection for I-beam steel section with perforation. Moment rotation and failure pattern of flush end plate connection for perforated section were

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Planning Graph Heuristics for Belief Space Search

open access: yes, 2011
Some recent works in conditional planning have proposed reachability heuristics to improve planner scalability, but many lack a formal description of the properties of their distance estimates.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
