Methane gas production from fishmeal factory wastewater.

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Conservation Engineering, 1987

Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) Larvae Protein Derivatives: Potential to Promote Animal Health

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
European legislation permits the inclusion of insect proteins in pet and aquaculture diets. Black soldier fly larvae (BSF) are one of the most actively produced species due to their low environmental impact and nutritional characteristics.

Evaluation of silkworm pupa meal on growth, body indices, digestive enzymes and histopathology of Cirrhinus mrigala fingerlings

open access: yesJournal of Fisheries
The world's growing population needs food, and aquaculture; a fast growing food producing sector, provides it. Fish meal (FM) is a major feed source in the aquaculture industry, but its low profitability and scarcity have prompted a quest for high ...

Fishmeal Supplementation to Grazing Dairy Cows in Early Lactation

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2000
Our objectives were to determine if grazing dairy cows would respond to fishmeal supplementation and to determine if responses could be explained by stimulation of adipose tissue lipolysis. Thirty-four multiparous Holstein cows (25+/-11 DIM) were supplemented with isonitrogenous concentrates containing either fishmeal or pelleted sunflower meal.

A Novel Protein Sourced from Chinese Medicine Residue for Golden Pompano Feed: Endothelium Corneum Gigeriae Galli Residue (ECGGR)

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition
Fishmeal is an important protein source in aquafeed. However, due to the limited natural resources, fishmeal is in short supply, resulting in a price surge for fishmeal.

Evaluation of blowfly (Chrysomya megacephala) maggot meal as an effective, sustainable replacement for fishmeal in the diet of farmed juvenile red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Fishmeal is the primary protein source used in farmed fish feed. However, the high price of fishmeal is a major contributor to high production costs in the aquaculture industry. Insect-based diets have been recognized as cheaper alternatives to fishmeal,

Evaluation of Dynamic Changes of Volatile Organic Components for Fishmeal during Storage by HS-SPME-GC-MS with PLS-DA

open access: yesFoods
Headspace solid-phase microextraction, combined with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry and partial least squares discriminant analysis, was adopted to study the rule of change in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for domestic and imported fishmeal ...
