Attrition-Enhanced Deracemization and Absolute Asymmetric Synthesis of Flavanones from Prochiral Precursors

, 2020
Seven racemic 5,7-dimethoxyflavanones afforded conglomerate crystals upon recrystallization from a solvent. Three methodologies were investigated to achieve asymmetric transformation based on dynamic crystallization of the chiral conglomerate system. The

Citrus Flavanones Enhance β-Carotene Uptake in Vitro Experiment Using Caco-2 Cell: Structure-Activity Relationship and Molecular Mechanisms.

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2019
Flavonoids can interfere with the absorption of carotenoids. In this study, the inherent mechanisms of 12 citrus flavanones for β-carotene (Bc) cellular uptake and the structure-activity relationship were investigated.

Flavanone glycosides from Alhagi pseudalhagi

Phytochemistry, 1999
Two new flavanone glycosides, alhagitin and alhagidin, have been isolated from the whole plant of Alhagi pseudalhagi and their structures established respectively as naringenin 5-methyl ether 4'-glucoside and hesperitin 7-galactosyl(1-->2)[rhamnosyl(1-->6)]glucoside by chemical and spectroscopic methods.

Synthesis of Flavanones via Palladium(II)-Catalyzed One-Pot β-Arylation of Chromanones with Arylboronic Acids.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
A total of 47 flavanones were expediently synthesized via one-pot β-arylation of chromanones, a class of simple ketones possessing chemically unactivated β sites, with arylboronic acids via tandem palladium(II) catalysis.

Efficient Synthesis of Flavanone Glucuronides

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2009
The first efficient synthesis of flavanone glucuronides as potential human metabolites is described. The synthetic strategy is based on acetyl protection, followed by a combination of chemical and enzymatic deprotection steps. As an example, the method is applied to a synthesis of 7,4'-di-O-methyleriodictyol 3'-O-beta-d-glucuronide.

Chemical Synthesis of Citrus Flavanone Glucuronides

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2010
Flavanone glucuronides are the major phenolic metabolites detected in human plasma after consumption of citrus fruits. As such, they might display significant cardioprotective effects. In this work, glucuronides of naringenin (4'- and 7-O-beta-d-glucuronides) and hesperetin (3'- and 7-O-beta-d-glucuronides), the major flavanone aglycones in grapefruit ...

Flavanones fromTephrosia leiocarpa

Phytochemistry, 1991
Abstract Roots and aereal parts of Tephrosia leiocarpa afforded two new flavanones, 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-8-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl- trans -but-1-enyl)flavanone and 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-8-(3-methyl- trans -but-1,3-dienyl)flavanone, named tephroleocarpin A and B, respectively.

The photochemistry of flavanone

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1972
On u.v. irradiation, flavanone rearranges to 4-phenyldihydrocoumarin and 2′-hydroxychalcone, and undergoes fragmentation to yield a highly reactive keto-keten.

Flavanones from Cyclotrichium niveum

Phytochemistry, 1989
Abstract A new flavanone isosakuranetin 7- O -rhamnoside was isolated from Cyclotrichium niveum together with known flavanones isosakuranetin and eriodictyol 7- O -glucoside, the flavones apigenin, apigenin 7-methyl ether, acacetin 7- O -rutinoside and the triterpenoids vergatic acid, oleanolic acid, β-amyrin and sitosterol.
