Research on Flexspline Strength of Harmonic Reducer for Industrial Robot

2020 4th Annual International Conference on Data Science and Business Analytics (ICDSBA), 2020
The flexspline of a harmonic reducer in an industrial robot has two failure modes. In this paper, using the commercial software Ansys, the problem of flexspline strength is investigated through the boundary condition setting and the static and buckling computation.

Study on the Structure of the Flexspline of Harmonic Reducer

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
According to the flexible gears damage problem during the work process of the harmonic reducer, a FEM model of the flexible and wave generator was established. On the basis of the mechanics of materials and the finite element theory, a large number of numerical simulations by the use of the finite element software were made.

Investigation of temperature effect on stress of flexspline

Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (English Edition), 2014
The effect of temperature loading on the stress of a flexspline is investigated. Based on the geometric and mechanical characteristics of the harmonic gear flexspline, a circular thin shell model is presented in this paper. The theoretical solution for the flexspline under different displacement loads and different temperature fields is derived ...

Deformation of Flexspline under Transmission Force in Harmonic Drive

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
Method to investigate the elastic deformation of a flexspline in harmonic driver was developed under assembly force from wave generator and transmission force. Shell element and tapered beam element were applied to model the flexspline cone and the teeth on the flexspline respectively. Forced displacement of the flexspline in assembly state was imposed

Design Optimization of the Flexspline in Harmonic Drive

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
In order to reduce the weight of harmonic drive (HD), the total volume of flexspline and circular spline was formulated and used as an objection function. Under the constraints including the condition on the strength of flexspline, the condition on averting the tooth top interference, the condition on the transmission ratio of HD and the geometrical ...

Tribological properties of flexspline materials regulated by micro-metallographic structure

Tribology International, 2018
Abstract Flexspline wear is a critical factor leading to harmonic drive failure. This study investigates the tribological properties of five typical flexspline materials under dry friction conditions. A wear mechanism regulated by micro-metallographic structure is proposed.

Geometrical Accuracy of Flexspline Prototypes Made by FDM/MEM Methods

Materials Research Proceedings, 2023
Abstract. This article presents an analysis of the geometrical accuracy of flexspline prototypes that were a component of harmonic drive. To produce the test models, a MEM (Melting and Extrusion Modeling) method was used. This additive method allows the production of elements with very complicated shapes from various polymeric materials.

Deformation Discipline of the Flexspline in Harmonic Drives with Engagement Output

2012
This paper deals with the deformation function of the flexspline under load condition, and its effect on the tooth profile. In order to investigate the deformation discipline under load condition, a kinematic simulation analysis model of ABAQUS for a harmonic drive with engagement output is established.
