CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Unravelling Plasma Extracellular Vesicle Diversity With Optimised Spectral Flow Cytometry

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are crucial for intercellular communication and are found in various biological fluids. The identification and immunophenotyping of such small particles continue to pose significant challenges.

Analyzing the involvement of diverse cell death-related genes in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma using bioinformatics techniques

open access: yesHeliyon
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) stands as the most prevalent subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and exhibits significant heterogeneity. Various forms of programmed cell death (PCD) have been established to have close associations with tumor onset ...

Evaluation of CD38 expression in Sudanese patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2018
Objective The objective of this study was to evaluate the cluster of differentiation-38 (CD38) expression in Sudanese patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and to determine its association with clinical and laboratory characteristics of the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Bi-lineage acute leukemia; a case with B-lymphoblasts and myeloid blasts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Preventive Epidemiology, 2019
Mixed phenotypic acute leukemia (MPAL) is classified under acute leukemia of ambiguous lineage. Most reported cases of acute ambiguous leukemia belong to bi-phenotypic leukemia. However, bi-lineage leukemia is rare.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Flow Cytometry for Rapid Determination of Number of Microbial Cells Grown on Fish

open access: yes, 2002
Application of the flow cytometry (FCM) technique for rapid determination of the total number of microbial cells grown on yellow-fin horse mackerel was described. An ultrasonic treatment was used to remove the cells on seafood samples of yellow-fin horse,

A rapid and reliable method of counting neurons and other cells in brain tissue: a comparison of flow cytometry and manual counting methods

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroanatomy, 2010
It is of critical importance to understand the numbers and distributions of neurons and non-neurons in the cerebral cortex because cell numbers are reduced with normal aging and by diseases of the CNS.
