Efficacy of Triple Antibiotic Paste, Moxifloxacin, Calcium Hydroxide And 2% Chlorhexidine Gel In Elimination of E. Faecalis: An In vitro Study [PDF]
Introduction: Root canal treatment is incomplete without usage of intra canal medicaments. They help in the reduction of bacterial count and its by-products, making canals clean and decreasing postoperative pains.

Pharmacodynamics of fluoroquinolones [PDF]
Abstract Fluctuating concentrations of three fluoroquinolones (moxifloxacin, sparfloxacin and ofloxacin) and a β-lactam (amoxycillin) were used in vitro to simulate antibiotic concentrations in human serum after oral doses of antibiotics.

Dissecting the molecular evolution of fluoroquinolone-resistant Shigella sonnei
Shigella sonnei increasingly dominates the international epidemiological landscape of shigellosis. Treatment options for S. sonnei are dwindling due to resistance to several key antimicrobials, including the fluoroquinolones. Here we analyse nearly 400 S.

ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

Abstract This narrative review summarizes the collective knowledge on periodontal microbiology, through a historical timeline that highlights the European contribution in the global field. The etiological concepts on periodontal disease culminate to the ecological plaque hypothesis and its dysbiosis‐centered interpretation.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global threat driven by antimicrobial use in aquaculture and livestock. Resistant pathogens and genes can spread across humans, animals, and the environment through interconnected ecosystems. Using a One Health approach, this review emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory strengthening, enhanced ...

The future of fluoroquinolones
The mutant prevention concentration (MPC) is a new measure of antibiotic potency above which a microbe must attain two concurrent resistance mutations for growth. For some C-8-methoxy fluoroquinolone-pathogen combinations, the value of MPC is below human serum drug concentration achieved with standard doses.
