Trends in fluoroquinolone resistance in Campylobacter
Members of the genus Campylobacter remain a leading cause of bacterial gastroenteritis worldwide. Infection is usually self-limiting but in severe cases may require antibiotic treatment.

Levofloxacin is a widely used antibiotic included in rifampicin‐resistant tuberculosis (RR‐TB) treatment. Data describing levofloxacin concentrations in breastmilk and infant exposure are limited. We analysed data from two South African studies of breastfeeding women receiving levofloxacin (750–1000 mg daily) for RR‐TB.

Abstract The availability of safety data, particularly concerning adverse events (AEs) associated with the new shorter regimen for drug‐resistant tuberculosis (TB) containing a bedaquiline–pretomanid‐based regimen, is still limited. This systematic review aims to provide a comprehensive and updated analysis of AEs related to this new regimen by ...

MOLECULAR BACKGROUND OF FLUOROQUINOLONE RESISTANCE IN PATHOGENIC HUMAN MYCOPLASMAS
Human mycoplasma pathogens are resistant to many types of antibiotics because of the lack of a cell wall. Macrolides are most often used for the treatment of mycoplasmosis, but the spread of forms resistant to these antibiotics requires the use of ...

Fungal Antimicrobial Resistance: Mechanisms, Drivers, and Global Clinical Burden
ABSTRACT Fungal antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern for world health caused by an increase in multidrug‐resistant infections, an increase in environmental reservoirs, and the ineffectiveness of current antifungal treatments. Fungal infections continue to be largely excluded from AMR initiatives while causing over 1.6 million deaths ...

Pretomanid is a component of the World Health Organization‐recommended treatment regimen for drug‐resistant tuberculosis in patients aged ≥ 14 years. While preclinical rodent studies identified testicular toxicity as a potential clinical liability at elevated doses, no corresponding effects were observed in nonhuman primates nor clinical hormone ...

The WHO recommends the bedaquiline, pretomanid, and linezolid (BPaL) regimen with the additional fluoroquinolone antibiotic moxifloxacin (BPaLM) for initial treatment of multidrug- or rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB).

A recent large epidemiological study found fluoroquinolone use is associated with an increased risk of aortic aneurysm or dissection. We aimed to examine fluoroquinolone (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and moxifloxacin) associated aortic aneurysm or ...

This work developed a low‐temperature sludge hydrothermal coupled with gel crosslinking strategy which could upgrade the waste liquid generated from sewage sludge hydrothermal treatment into the hydrothermal‐liquid‐gel. The inventive hydrothermal‐liquid‐gel exhibited the enhanced pollutant removal capability, high synthetic stability, and superior ...
