NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. Focal adhesion kinase in integrin signaling
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) has recently been established as a key component of the signal transduction pathways triggered by integrins. Aggregation of integrins and the cytoskeletal proteins tensin, paxillin and talin is proposed to be responsible for FAK activation and autophosphorylation by integrins in cell adhesion.

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.
