Nutrition Reviews, 2009Trends in food and nutrient intake are estimated by per capita food supply data and surveys of individual consumption. A recent study suggests that these two types of estimates do not reflect the same trends in macronutrient intake. These data should be used with caution when developing associations between diet and risk of disease.
