Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

VIP treatment prevents embryo resorption by modulating efferocytosis and activation profile of maternal macrophages in the CBAxDBA resorption prone model [PDF]
Successful embryo implantation occurs followed by a local pro-inflammatory response subsequently shifted toward a tolerogenic one. VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide) has embryotrofic, anti-inflammatory and tolerogenic effects.

IL‐2 Free Expansion of T Cells with Immunofilaments
Ratio and density of stimulatory αCD3 and αCD28 mAb on immunofilaments (IF) influence T cell expansion, cytokine production, and effector phenotype. Moreover, IL‐2 supplementation is not necessary with optimal performing IFs, which leads to simpler culture conditions, and negative side effects of IL‐2 supplementation are reduced.

The correlation between rheumatoid factor and anti cyclic citrullinated peptides with gene expression of FoxP3 in rheumatoid artheritis patients [PDF]
Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affect 1-2% of people worldwide. Inflammation is an important factor in the pathogenesis of RA. Anti- Cyclic Citrullinated Peptid (Anti-CCP) antibody and Rheumatoid Factor (RF)

Immune checkpoints in circulating and tumor-Infiltrating CD4 + T Cell Subsets in Colorectal cancer patients [PDF]
Blockade of inhibitory immune checkpoints (ICs) is a promising therapeutic approach; however, it has shown limited success in some cancers including colorectal cancer (CRC). The tumor microenvironment (TME) is largely responsible for response to therapy,

Cancer-FOXP3 directly activated CCL5 to recruit FOXP3+Treg cells in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [PDF]
Forkheadbox protein 3 (FOXP3), initially identified as a key transcription factor for regulatory T cells (Treg cells), was also expressed in many tumors including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). However, its role in PDAC progression remains elusive.

Natural T Regulatory Cells (n Treg) in the Peripheral Blood of Healthy Subjects and Subjects with Chronic Periodontitis – A Pilot Study [PDF]
Introduction: The T cells play a central role in the aetiopathogenesis of periodontal disease. Natural T regulatory cells (nTreg) are the key stone immunoregulatory elements having an anergic phenotype and play an important role in the suppression of

This study investigates how ischemia‐free liver transplantation (IFLT) shapes both local and systemic immune responses compared with conventional liver transplantation (CLT). Our findings demonstrate that IFLT confers significant immunological protection by attenuating the STAT3‐HIF‐1α axis and enhancing the Heme‐HMOX1 pathway, two regulatory networks ...
