ADA2 Forms Nuclear Condensates with GCN5 and ATP‐Citrate Lyase (ACL) to Modulate H3K9 Acetylation at Genes Functioning in Rice Meristems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a novel GAA (GCN5‐ADA2‐ACL) complex that forms nuclear condensates to boost local acetyl‐CoA, facilitating histone acetylation and gene transcription in rice meristems. The research underscores the role of ADA2's disordered region in complex condensation and ACL's role in acetyl‐CoA production.

Initial Distance‐Dependent Mean Force Drives Synaptic Vesicle Motion Toward Fusion Sites in Stimulated Hippocampal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synaptic vesicle (SV) motion and exocytosis dynamics in the presynaptic terminals of live neurons are intimately linked to synaptic transmission during neuronal activity. In this work, it is revealed that, during electrical stimulation, SVs located farther from their fusion sites exhibit greater straightness and experience larger mean forces directed ...

Insect I‐Type Lysozymes Function as Antiviral Proteases by Forming Biomolecular Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon rice viral infection, the insect vector activates the Toll–MyD88–Dorsal signaling cascade, inducing i‐type lysozyme (Lyz‐I1) expression. Lyz‐I1 functions as an antiviral protease through its conserved catalytic dyad Glu/Asp (E/D), mediating cleavage of viral proteins at specific Lys (K) residues.

Preservation of Complex Multiphase Architectures in Polymer‐Based Artificial Cells by Photo‐Crosslinking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation organizes cellular components, yet stabilizing such dynamic structures in artificial cells remains challenging. A photo‐crosslinking approach is presented that prolongs the lifetime of different structures in coacervate‐based artificial cells while maintaining dynamic formation.

Targeting G3BP1 Condensate Topology Promotes Stress Granule Assembly via m6A‐IGF2BP1 for Ischemic Stroke Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our research reveals that small‐molecule icariin (ICA) directly binds Ras‐GTPase‐activating protein SH3 domain‐binding protein 1 (G3BP1), inducing conformational change and oligomerization. This interaction confers neuroprotection by recruiting insulin‐like growth factor 2 mRNA‐binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) and modulating N6‐methyladenosine (m6A ...

Osmotic Tension Asymmetry Drives Electrotactic Migration via PDLIM7‐Polarized Microfilament Coordination in Breast Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes an electric field‐induced directional migration model using fluorescence tension probes to visualize microfilament forces and intracellular osmotic pressure dynamics in the electrotactic migration of breast cancer cells. This model delineates how electromechanical interactions among membrane potential, ion channels, OP, traction ...

Effects of Methanolic Extract and Commercial Oil of Nigella sativa L. on Blood Glucose and Antioxidant Capacity in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Rats

open access: yesPteridines, 2007
Nigella sativa is a medicinal plant widely used in the Arabic and Islamic world against a number of human pathologies. In this present study the methanol extraction (85 % then 50 %) of plant seeds gave an important yield of 27 % of dry substance.

Surface Engineered Biomolecular Condensates for Targeted Cell Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interfacial engineering of biomolecular condensates with a decanoic acid (DA) membrane enables molecular‐weight‐gated enzyme localization. Small biomolecules (≤60 kDa) enrich internally, while high‐molecular‐weight alkaline phosphatase (ALP) localizes at the interface.
