Thermostructural responses of carbon phenolics in a restrained thermal growth test [PDF]
The thermostructural response of carbon phenolic components in a solid rocket motor (SRM) is a complex process. It involves simultaneous heat and mass transfer along with chemical reactions in a multiphase system with time-dependent material properties ...

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

A modular biosynthetic PVA–gelatin hydrogel crosslinked via visible‐light thiol‐ene chemistry is engineered as a coating for neural electrodes. Optimizing matrix composition and mechanical properties enables the hydrogel to support astrocytic populations that guide neural differentiation and functional maturation.

Estimation of Free Phenolic Groups in Lignin
A method has been developed for the determination of free phenolic groups in softwood lignin. It is based on the colour reaction occurring between 1-nitroso 2-naphthol and eugenol. The colour reaction of l-nitroso-2—naphthol with a variety of substances containing one or two guaiacyl nuclei (representing probable structural prmcipales of lignin) has ...

Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.
