Contrasting Effects of Wild Arachis Dehydrin Under Abiotic and Biotic Stresses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Plant dehydrins (DNHs) belong to the LEA (Late Embryogenesis Abundant) protein family and are involved in responses to multiple abiotic stresses. DHNs are classified into five subclasses according to the organization of three conserved motifs (K-; Y ...

Freezing of Quiescent Water in a Horizontal Cylinder [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Heat transfer measurements were conducted during freezing of quiescent water in a horizontal cylinder. A horizontal cylinder with inner diameter of 61.1 mm is cooled by air in a constant low temperature room and time variations of the radial distribution

Freezing of gait in Parkinson’s disease reflects a sudden derangement of locomotor network dynamics

open access: yesBrain : a journal of neurology, 2019
Freezing of gait is a disabling symptom of Parkinson’s disease that causes a paroxysmal inability to generate effective stepping. Pozzi et al. investigate its pathophysiology in patients with a deep brain stimulation device that allows on-demand ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Percolation with Multiple Giant Clusters

open access: yes, 2005
We study the evolution of percolation with freezing. Specifically, we consider cluster formation via two competing processes: irreversible aggregation and freezing.

Freeze-in as a complementary process to freeze-out

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract There are many extensions of the Standard Model with a dark matter (DM) candidate obtained via the freeze-out mechanism. It can happen that after all experimental and theoretical constraints are taken into account, all parameter points have a relic density below the experimentally measured value. This means that the models

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Optimal Regulation of the Balance between Productivity and Overwintering of Perennial Grasses in a Warmer Climate

open access: yesAgronomy, 2017
Seasonal growth patterns of perennial plants are linked to patterns of acclimation and de-acclimation to seasonal stresses. The timing of cold acclimation (development of freezing resistance) and leaf growth cessation in autumn, and the timing of de ...
