Comparison between the Effects of Adding Vitamins, Trace Elements, and Nanoparticles to SHOTOR Extender on the Cryopreservation of Dromedary Camel Epididymal Spermatozoa

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
There are several obstacles in camel semen cryopreservation; such as increasing semen viscosity and the reduction in motile spermatozoa after ejaculation.

Some biological aspects of the weed Lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria) [PDF]

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2013
Lesser celandine (Ranunculaceae) is a perennial weed with tuberous root. Tubers are the most important means of reproduction and dispersion of this weed. In recent years, it has spread into wheat fields in Western Iran, mainly in the Lorestan province. A

Freezing of Triangulations

open access: yes, 2004
Zero temperature dynamics of two dimensional triangulations of a torus with curvature energy is described. Numerical simulations strongly suggest that the model get frozen in metastable states, made of topological defects on flat surfaces, that group ...

Freezing of a Stripe Liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The existence of a stripe-liquid phase in a layered nickelate, La(1.725)Sr(0.275)NiO(4), is demonstrated through neutron scattering measurements.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Could ‘Isochoric Freezing’ Revolutionise Food Preservation?

open access: yesFoods
The present article responds to the food engineering community’s growing interest in an emerging and lauded approach to food preservation, popularised by its developers as ‘isochoric freezing’.

Direct transfer of frozen-thawed bovine embryos and its application in cattle reproduction management

open access: yesThe Journal of Reproduction and Development, 2019
Embryo transfer entails many procedures and techniques, of which embryo freezing is an important component in bovine embryo transfer. Embryo freezing techniques have been developed over the last 40 years, allowing practical availability, and have become ...

Constrained Boltzmann-Gibbs measures and effective potential for glasses in hypernetted chain approximation and numerical simulations

open access: yes, 1998
By means of an effective potential associated to a constrained equilibrium measure and apt to study frozen systems, we investigate glassy freezing in simple liquids in the hypernetted chain (HNC) approximation.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
