NeuroVisio SyncPatch: A Skin‐Conformal Multimodal EMG–Motion Sensing Platform for Quantitative Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and Performance Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
NeuroVisio SyncPatch integrates skin‐conformal electromyography (EMG) electrodes with camera‐tracked markers to jointly assess muscle activity and three‐dimensional knee kinematics during rehabilitation. Parallel feedback pathways provide real‐time kinematic guidance during movement and post‐trial neuromuscular feedback.

A Thermoreversible Gelation Pathway to Plant Cuticle‐Inspired Biopolymer Aerogel Monoliths Based on Network‐Spherulitic Crystal Assemblies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
To address functionality limitations in plant‐based and industrially compostable polymer aerogels, this work introduces bio‐inspired aerogels with broadened functionality. Inspired by functional plant tissues, lightweight biopolymer aerogels based on exclusively stereocomplex crystals are fabricated, featuring hierarchically macro‐/meso‐porous ...

A randomized controlled trial examining consumers’ perceptions and opinions on using different versions of a FoodFlip© smartphone application for delivery of nutrition information

open access: yesInternational Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, 2020
Background Food labelling is a common intervention to improve diets, where the back-of-pack Nutrition Information Panel (or Nutrition Facts table (NFt)) provides comprehensive nutrition information on food packages.

3D Printed Photon Shield Assembly for Low‐Noise Visual Stimulation During Two‐Photon Imaging in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present the Photon Shield, an open‐hardware system for low‐noise two‐photon calcium imaging during visual stimulation in mice. Combining a 3D‐printed headplate and rail‐mounted shield substantially reduces stray‐light contamination, as quantitatively verified. Functional validation confirms reliable cortical responses. Open design files enable broad

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

What about 100% juice and non-sugar sweeteners? A national study of support for taxes, labelling and marketing bans applied to sugary drinks, non-sugar sweetened beverages and 100% juice in Australia

open access: yesAustralian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health
Objective: To assess levels of support for potential policy interventions (labelling, banning marketing to children, taxes) to reduce sugar-sweetened beverage consumption; and to assess levels of support when these policies were extended to non-sugar ...

Front-of-Pack Labelling and International Trade Law: Revisiting the Health Star Rating System

open access: yesSocial Science Research Network, 2020
The Western world is suffering from an ‘obesity epidemic’, partly attributable to international trade. International trade has contributed to changes in diet, increases in pre-packaged food rich in sugar and salt, and an upsurge in obesity rates and non ...
