Geroprotective properties of fucoxanthin
Ural Medical Journal, 2022Introduction. Fucoxanthin is one of the main representatives of marine carotenoids with a wide range of biological activities, including a geroprotective effect. The most common source of fucoxanthin in the food industry is diatomic algae (e.g., Phaeodactylum tricornutum).

Fucoxanthin bioavailability from fucoxanthin-fortified milk: In vivo and in vitro study
Food Chemistry, 2018Our previous study reported the improved stability of fucoxanthin (FX) fortified in whole milk (WM) and skimmed milk (SM). In this study, in vivo and in vitro FX bioavailability were investigated using FX-fortified milk (FX-SM and FX-WM) and microalga Phaeodactylum tricornutum biomass (Pt-powder).

To facilitate the utilization of fucoxanthin (FX), a valuable marine carotenoid, in the food industry, FX-loaded casein nanoparticles (FX-CN) and chitosan-coated FX-CN (FX-CS-CN) were developed using the FX-enriched fraction from Phaeodactylum tricornutum.

Recent advances in delivery systems of fucoxanthin
Food Chemistry, 2023Fucoxanthin is a carotenoid derived from marine algae/microalgae, which has wide application in the food industry. This review first proposes the promotion development of fucoxanthin delivery systems from the perspective of diverse biological activities, extraction complexity, instability, poor aqueous solubility, and low bioavailability. The materials

Fucoxanthin and lipid metabolism: A minireview
Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, 2015Accumulating data suggest that food supplementation with seaweeds which traditionally are an important part of food culture in South-East Asian countries might lead to essential health benefits. In this short review, we summarize findings from experimental studies on the effects of fucoxanthin (a carotenoid derived from brown seaweeds) on lipid ...

Brown Algae (Fucoxanthin) Against Cancer
2021Fucoxanthin is recognized well all over the world due to its beneficial health effects. It is widely available in nature as a carotenoid and accounts for more than 10% of total carotenoids production in the world. Since, it disguises the green chlorophyll a and c therefore; it gives yellow to brown color to diatoms and seaweed (Brown macroalgae).
