Fucoxanthin is an orange-coloured pigment present in brown algae (Phaeophyceae) and diatoms (Bacillariophyceae). This non-provitamin A carotenoid shows various biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, and anticancer properties.
