Labeled Fumonisins: Production and Use of Fumonisin B1 Containing Stable Isotopes

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1994
Abstract Fumonisin B1 (FB1) labeled on the branch methyl groups with deuterium was produced in liquid cultures, and methyl-D3-labeled methionine was added. The isolated FB1 had 90% incorporation of 6 deuterium atoms and 9% incorporation of 3 deuterium atoms.

Gastrointestinal Degradation of Fumonisin B1 by Carboxylesterase FumD Prevents Fumonisin Induced Alteration of Sphingolipid Metabolism in Turkey and Swine

open access: yesToxins, 2016
The mycotoxin fumonisin B1 (FB1) is a frequent contaminant of feed and causes various adverse health effects in domestic animals. Hence, effective strategies are needed to prevent the impact of fumonisins on livestock productivity.

Fumonisins and co-occurring mycotoxins in north Serbian corn [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The presence of fumonisin has not been regulated in the legislation of the Republic of Serbia. Therefore, the data on contamination of cereals, especially corn, which is highly susceptible to contamination by this toxin, are not sufficient. This paper

Effect of insertion of Bt gene in corn and different fumonisin content on growth performance of weaned piglets

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2011
The objective of this study was to compare the effect of Bt corn and isogenic corn on the growth of weaned piglets. One hundred twenty-eight weaned piglets weighing 8.8 ±1.27 kg live weight were randomly assigned to 4 groups of 32 animals each (16

Assessing Risk of Fumonisin Contamination in Maize Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
Fumonisins are major mycotoxins found worldwide in maize and maize products. Because of their toxicity for both human and animals, European Union regulations were created to fix the maximal fumonisin B1 and B2 content allowed in foods and feeds ...
