High‐Performance UV Photodetectors Based on ZnO Hierarchical Nanostructures Grown on Aerosol‐Printed 3D Ag Mesh

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
First integration of ZnO nanorods with aerosol‐printed 3D Ag meshes for UV photodetector. 3D Ag/ZnO enhances light absorption and charge separation by providing a large active surface area for efficient charge generation and a strong UV response.

Connecting the dots: A narrative review of the relationship between heart failure and cognitive impairment

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1119-1131, April 2025.
Abstract Large clinical data underscore that heart failure is independently associated to an increased risk of negative cognitive outcome and dementia. Emerging evidence suggests that cerebral hypoperfusion, stemming from reduced cardiac output and vascular pathology, may contribute to the largely overlapping vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease ...

Comparative analysis of physicochemical properties, antioxidant activities, and metabolomic profiles in daylily-supplemented craft beer fermented with different Saccharomyces strains

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
This study investigated the use of daylily as a novel adjunct in craft beer production with four Saccharomyces yeast strains. The addition of daylily powder and yeast selection significantly influenced the physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity,

Hofmann Degradation of Asparagine and Glutamine as an Efficient Approach for the Synthesis of Derivatized Lysine Homologs

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A practical and scalable route to C1 and C2 lysine homologs has been developed using Hofmann degradation of N‐protected L‐asparagine and L‐glutamine as the key step. These short‐tether scaffolds enable efficient synthesis of diverse Fmoc‐protected noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) bearing donor, acceptor, redox‐active, and fluorescent residues.

Chemical Syntheses of 3′ and 5′ Phosphorylated Oligonucleotides: An Overview

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of the various chemical methods employed in the synthesis of oligonucleotides bearing a phosphate group at their 3′ or 5′ end. Notably, it presents modified phosphoramidites and supports developed for this purpose. Oligonucleotides (ON) with a phosphate monoester group at their 3′ or 5′ end have applications in many ...

Associations Between Baseline Severity and Treatment Effects in Digital Interventions for Eating Disorders: A Meta‐Regression

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective While it is assumed that digital interventions are more suitable for milder eating disorder presentations, the evidence supporting this assumption remains unclear. We conducted meta‐regressions testing whether baseline severity at the study level was associated with treatment effects from digital interventions for eating disorders ...

Would Functional Agricultural Foods Improve Human Health? [PDF]

open access: yes
Concern over diet-health relationships has moved to the forefront of public health concerns in the UK and much of the developed world. It has been estimated, for example, that obesity costs the UK National Health Service up to £6b per year (Rayner and ...
