Neutrophil function in cured cancer patients [PDF]
Spontaneous and endotoxin-stimulated nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) dye reduction was evaluated in 86 individuals cured of various types of solid malignancies and in 55 healthy adults. Oxygen consumption tests, at rest and during phagocytosis, were performed with polymorphonuclear leukocytes of 22 patients and 10 controls, chosen at random.

Analysis of HBsAg Immunocomplexes and cccDNA Activity During and Persisting After NAP‐Based Therapy
Therapy with nucleic acid polymers (NAPs), tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF), and pegylated interferon (pegIFN) achieve high rates of HBsAg loss/seroconversion and functional cure in chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.

Cold-Curing Structural Epoxy Resins: Analysis of the Curing Reaction as a Function of Curing Time and Thickness [PDF]
The curing reaction of a commercial cold-curing structural epoxy resin, specifically formulated for civil engineering applications, was analyzed by thermal analysis as a function of the curing time and the sample thickness. Original and remarkable results regarding the effects of curing time on the glass transition temperature and on the residual heat ...

Predictive biomarkers of a functional cure for HIV [PDF]
Abstract: Although combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) is very effective at suppressing viral replication and preventing disease progression, it is not curative due to the existence of a latent viral reservoir in resting memory CD4+ T cells. As a result, HIV infected patients need to take life-long antiretroviral therapy.

Moving Toward a Functional Cure for HIV-1
. Despite the recent success of suppressing human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) replication in the peripheral blood with antiretroviral therapy, elimination of the provirus from infected cells remains challenging because the virus can integrate into ...

Current status and future prospects of drug treatment strategies for functional cure of chronic hepatitis B [PDF]
Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) remains a major global health challenge. Functional cure represents the ideal therapeutic endpoint for CHB. The pathogenesis of CHB is complex, including hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA integration, persistent covalently closed ...
