Furanones and Anthranilic Acid Derivatives from the Endophytic Fungus Dendrothyrium variisporum [PDF]
Extracts from an endophytic fungus isolated from the roots of the Algerian plant Globularia alypum showed prominent antimicrobial activity in a screening for novel antibiotics. The producer organism was identified as Dendrothyrium variisporum by means of

Furanone Derivatives from Terrestrial Streptomyces spp [PDF]
Chemical investigation of the terrestrial Streptomyces sp. isolates GT2005/020 and ANK148 led to the isolation of two microbial furanone derivatives, 5-hydroxy-4-methylnaphtho[1,2-b]furan-3-one (1) and 4-hydroxy-5-methyl-furan-3-one (2), respectively, which have some similarity to quorum sensing molecules of the AI-2 type.

Computational Studies of Furanone and its 5Methyl/5Phenyl Derivatives [PDF]
The properties for 2(5H)-furanone and 2(5Methyl)- and 2(5Phenyl)-furanone derivatives have been explored by computational chemistry approach. The subatomic unit calculations have been done to optimize the models and to evaluate their corresponding properties, in which several achievements have been seen for the investigated models. The energy levels of
