An Easy Access to Furan-Fused Polyheterocyclic Systems
Nitrostilbenes characterized by two different or differently substituted aryl moieties can be obtained from the initial ring-opening of 3-nitrobenzo[b]thiophene with amines. Such versatile building blocks couple the well-recognized double electrophilic reactivity of the nitrovinyl moiety (addition to the double bond, followed by, e.g., intramolecular ...

Hydrido‐benzosiloles bearing a side arm of the silylenyl group are prepared, all featuring the unique silicon(II)→silicon(IV) donor‐acceptor interaction that facilitates the enamination of α‐H‐bearing nitriles to afford the edge‐fused Si‐heterotricycles.

Recent Applications of Quinolinium Salts in the Synthesis of Annulated Heterocycles
Quinoline derivatives are frequently found in natural products and biologically active compounds; however, construction of quinoline fused polyheterocycles is a challenging goal in synthetic organic chemistry.

TFA promoted deprotection of O−Ts activated N‐Boc hydroxylamines triggers aminofunctionalization‐based polycyclizations of tethered alkenes. The processes involve intramolecular stereospecific aza‐Prilezhaev alkene aziridination in advance of stereospecific C−N cleavage by a pendant nucleophile.

Site-Selective Double and Tetracyclization Routes to Fused Polyheterocyclic Structures by Pd-Catalyzed Carbonylation Reactions [PDF]
In this contribution, we report novel palladium-catalyzed carbonylative cascade approaches to highly functionalized polyheterocyclic structures. The Pd-catalyzed carbonylative process involves the regioselective insertion of one to three CO molecules and the sequential ordered formation of up to eight new bonds (one C-O, two C-C, five C-N).

Fused oxazino‐quinolinone derivatives have been obtained in high yield and selectivity by mild palladium‐catalyzed carbonylation protocols (atmospheric pressure and mild reaction temperature). Gaseous CO can be replaced with surrogates such as TFBen or hexa‐formate calix[6]arenes (CLX[6]CO), which have been employed for the first time as solid ...

On Route to Diverse Nitrogen‐Bridged Polyhetero‐cycles with an N(acyl), N(aryl)‐acetal Core
We developed here the synthesis of new tetracyclic structures incorporating both aniline and isoindolinone nucleus, by exploiting the sequential nucleophilic and electrophilic reactivities of suitable o‐substituted aniline with 1‐formylbenzonitrile.

Synthesis and Transformations of NH‐Sulfoximines
This review considered recent progress and achievements in the synthesis and transformation of NH‐sulfoximines. The development of strategies for direct and selective preparation of NH‐sulfoximines, even in enantioenriched form or by using sustainable approaches and continuous flow synthesis, are reported. Transformations of sulfoximines by N−S, N−P, N−

Electrophilic Aminating Agents in Total Synthesis
This Review outlines the strategic use of electrophilic aminating agents in total synthesis. A wide range of C−N bond‐forming methods are highlighted, including polar, radical and transition‐metal‐catalyzed processes. Abstract Classical amination methods involve the reaction of a nitrogen nucleophile with an electrophilic carbon center; however, in ...
