Anxiolytic Effects of Indole Alkaloids From Rauvolfia ligustrina in Adult Zebrafish: Involvement of the GABAergic and 5‐HT Systems

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Benzodiazepines are widely used in the treatment of anxiety, but their use may be interrupted due to side effects. This study evaluated the indole alkaloids isocarapanaubine (indole alkaloid 1 [AIN1]) and 18‐β‐hydroxy‐3‐epi‐α‐yohimbine (indole alkaloid 2 [AIN2]), extracted from Rauvolfia ligustrina, in adult zebrafish.

The Effect of Exogenously Applied Dicarboxylic Acids (Photon) on the Maize (Zea mays) Metabolite Profile

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Maize is an important crop worldwide with approximately 1200 million tons consumed and a market size worth $143 billion. Environmental stress influence production of crops and mitigating these ensures optimum production. Dicarboxylic acids are known as emulsifying agents that mitigate various stresses in plants.

Plasticity of GABA(B) receptor-mediated heterosynaptic interactions at mossy fibers after status epilepticus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Several neurotransmitters, including GABA acting at presynaptic GABAB receptors, modulate glutamate release at synapses between hippocampal mossy fibers and CA3 pyramidal neurons.

Recent Advances in Isatin–Thiazole Hybrids: Synthesis, Structural Design, and Biological Application

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Isatin–thiazole hybrids are considered privileged chemical scaffolds due to their broad spectrum of pharmacological properties, making them attractive candidates for drug development. As a result, isatin–thiazole derivatives have emerged as a prominent class of hybrid heterocycles and have been the focus of extensive research in recent years ...
