TNF receptor–related factor 3 inactivation promotes the development of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma through NF‐κB‐inducing kinase–mediated hepatocyte transdifferentiation

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a deadly but poorly understood disease, and its treatment options are very limited. The aim of this study was to identify the molecular drivers of ICC and search for therapeutic targets.

Tryptophan Metabolite Indole‐3‐Aldehyde Induces AhR and c‐MYC Degradation to Promote Tumor Immunogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tryptophan metabolite Indole‐3‐aldehyde (I3A) downregulates cytosolic AhR and p‐ERK/c‐MYC proteins, together enhancing STAT3 phosphorylation and tumor immunogenicity. Overexpression of the Trp metabolic enzyme interleukin‐4‐induced gene‐1 (IL4I1) in tumor cells increases intracellular levels of I3A and enhances tumor immunogenicity.

IL‐31 levels correlate with pruritus in patients with cholestatic and metabolic liver diseases and is farnesoid X receptor responsive in NASH

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
IL‐31 levels correlate with pruritus in patients with cholestatic and metabolic liver diseases Abstract Background and Aims Pruritus is associated with multiple liver diseases, particularly those with cholestasis, but the mechanism remains incompletely understood.

Restoration of SIRT3 Expression in Aged Mice Alleviates UUO‐Induced Renal Fibrosis by Reducing GSK‐3β Hyperacetylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT3 expression is significantly downregulated in the aged kidney, rendering the kidney more vulnerable to fibrotic changes in obstructive nephropathy. By promoting GSK‐3β deacetylation, SIRT3 indirectly inhibits Wnt/β‐catenin signaling, thereby suppressing renal fibrosis.

Characterization of a highly stable α-galactosidase from thermophilic Rasamsonia emersonii heterologously expressed in a modified Pichia pastoris expression system

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2019
Background Structurally stable α-galactosidases are of great interest for various biotechnological applications. More thermophilic α-galactosidases with high activity and structural stability have therefore to be mined and characterized.

Characteristics and expression patterns of six α-galactosidases in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.).

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Six putative α-galactosidase genes (α-Gals), three acid forms (CsGAL1, CsGAL2, CsGAL3) and three alkaline forms (CsAGA1, CsAGA2, CsAGAL3), were found in the cucumber genome.

Inhibition of UBE2C Promotes Parkin‐Mediated K63‐Linked Ubiquitination of TOP2A to Induce Senescence and Increase Sensitivity of Doxorubicin in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the study, UBE2C was found to be significantly overexpressed in breast cancer and transcriptionally regulated by FOXM1. Inhibition of UBE2C suppressed proliferation, induced senescence, and sensitized breast cancer cells to doxorubicin. Mechanistically, UBE2C inhibition promoted Parkin‐mediated K63‐linked ubiquitination of TOP2A.
