Targeting the C-terminus of galectin-9 induces mesothelioma apoptosis and M2 macrophage depletion
Galectin-9 has emerged as a promising biological target for cancer immunotherapy due to its role as a regulator of macrophage and T-cell differentiation. In addition, its expression in tumor cells modulates tumor cell adhesion, metastasis, and apoptosis.

Single‐Cell Omics Analysis of Human Basophils Reveals Two Transcriptionally Distinct Populations
Integrated single‐cell transcriptomics and large‐scale immunophenotyping reveal the molecular landscape of human basophils. Circulating basophils comprise two transcriptionally distinct populations. A user‐friendly web resource enables interactive exploration of the generated data.

ABSTRACT Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare and potentially life‐threatening systemic, inflammatory disease with multi‐organ manifestations, variable presentation and complex pathology. Multiple interconnected immunological pathways are implicated in EGPA pathology, including a type‐2 immune response driving predominantly ...

Bifidobacterium breve and Lactobacillus rhamnosus treatment is as effective as budesonide at reducing inflammation in a murine model for chronic asthma [PDF]
__Background:__ Asthma is estimated to affect as many as 300 million people worldwide and its incidence and prevalence are rapidly increasing throughout the world, especially in children and within developing countries. Recently, there has been a growing

A role for Galectin‐9 in neutrophil trafficking
Galectin‐9 (Gal‐9) was initially characterized as a potent eosinophil chemoattractant but has subsequently been found to have immunosuppressive effects in models of collagen‐ induced arthritis and carageenan paw oedema. Its effects on neutrophil recruitment and behavior during inflammation have not been thoroughly investigated.

Background and Purpose Novel heart failure (HF) pharmacotherapies, including angiotensin receptor‐neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) and sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is), may confer cardiovascular benefits by attenuating myocardial fibrosis. However, direct evidence from human failing myocardial samples is limited.

Background and Purpose Human adenovirus (HAdV) causes respiratory or gastrointestinal tract infections depending on the virus subtype. While HAdV infections are generally self‐limiting in immunocompetent people, they can result in significant morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised adults and children.

Cardiac remodelling and fibrosis after myocardial infarction or during chronic diseases, such as arterial and pulmonary hypertension or diabetes mellitus, continue to be the more important prognostic factors in determining survival, and so the search for effective anti‐fibrotic interventions is an important target for research and therapy in cardiology.

This study investigates the role of Sushi domain‐containing 2 (SUSD2) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and demonstrates that SUSD2 enhances both metastasis and primary tumor growth by promoting integrin β1–FAK signaling. SUSD2 interacts with integrin β1, enhancing adhesion to extracellular matrix (ECM) components such as collagen 1 and ...
