Experimental Measurements and Computer Simulation of Fission Product Gamma-Ray Spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Airborne gamma ray spectrometry using high volume scintillation detectors, optionally in conjunction with Ge detectors, has potential for making rapid environmental measurements in response to nuclear accidents. An experimental investigation and computer

Melarsoprol cyclodextrin inclusion complexes as promising oral candidates for the treatment of human African trypanosomiasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Human African trypanosomiasis (HAT), or sleeping sickness, results from infection with the protozoan parasites <i>Trypanosoma brucei</i> (<i>T.b.</i>) <i>gambiense</i> or <i>T.b.rhodesiense</i> and is ...

The Synergistic Biologic Activity of Oleanolic and Ursolic Acids in Complex with Hydroxypropyl-γ-Cyclodextrin

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Oleanolic and ursolic acids are natural triterpenic compounds with pentacyclic cholesterol-like structures which gives them very low water solubility, a significant disadvantage in terms of bioavailability.

Detection of Odorant Molecules in the Gaseous Phase Using α-, β-, and γ-Cyclodextrin Films on a Quartz Crystal Microbalance

open access: yesTechnologies, 2018
There is an interest in sensors for the detection of odorant molecules in the gaseous phase, especially those related to the fragrance of fruits, because odorant sensing is useful for on-site quality control of agricultural products.

Dielectric behavior of gamma-cyclodextrin polymer and carboxymethyl gamma-cyclodextrin polymer cross-linked both by epichlorohydrin

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Structure, 2020
Abstract The γ-cyclodextrin polymer (γ-CDP) and carboxymethyl-γ-cyclodextrin polymer (CM-γ-CDP) cross-linked both by epichlorohydrin were investigated via dielectric spectroscopy over the frequency range 0.1–100 kHz and the temperature ranges 122.0–472.4 K and 123.6–460.3 K, respectively.

Permeability Characteristics of a New Antifungal Topical Amphotericin B Formulation with γ-Cyclodextrins

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Amphotericin B is a low soluble broad-spectrum antifungal agent. Cyclodextrins can be added to amphotericin formulations to enhance both their solubility and antifungal properties.

Influence of Adding Cyclodextrin Derivatives on the Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Glassy Polymers. [PDF]

open access: yesMacromol Rapid Commun
Triacetylated γ‐cyclodextrin incorporated into poly(methyl methacrylate) primarily acted as a rigid filler and reinforced the matrix polymer, with the reinforcement behavior following the Guth–Gold equation. In addition, the glass transition temperature was maintained upon incorporation, indicating that the additive did not plasticize the polymer ...

Enhanced bioavailability of digoxin by .GAMMA.-cyclodextrin complexation.

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacobio-Dynamics, 1981
Inclusion complex of digoxin with gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CyD) in 1:4 molar ratio was prepared, and its dissolution and absorption behaviors were compared with those of digoxin alone. The dissolution rate of digoxin in water was found to be markedly increased by gamma-CyD complexation.

Impact of Threading State on the Mechanics of γ‐Cyclodextrin–Pyrene Gels

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Tuning the threading state of discrete γ‐cyclodextrin (γ‐CD)–pyrene pseudorotaxane crosslinkers controls gel topology and ring mobility. The resulting doubly threaded slide‐ring networks exhibit solvent‐switchable dissipative dynamics, high extensibility, rate‐dependent mechanics, and low hysteresis, revealing how crosslink topology governs macroscopic

Caging Polyhalide Anions in Polycyclodextrin for Long‐Lasting Aqueous Zinc‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We demonstrated poly(β‐cyclodextrin) gel as an ideal host material that effectively contains and releases polyhalide anions in aqueous zinc‐iodine batteries. Such a unique host‐guest chemistry prevents the shuttle effect of polyhalides. The corresponding batteries can operate via both 2e and 4e storage, attaining 60,000 cycles with more than 99% and 85%
