Peptide antigens for gamma/delta T cells
Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, 2011γδ T cells express adaptive antigen receptors encoded by rearranging genes. Their diversity is highest in the small region of TCR V-J junctions, especially in the δ chain, which should enable the γδ TCRs to distinguish differences in small epitopes.

Hepatosplenic gamma-delta T-cell lymphoma
Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, 2012Hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTL) is a rare and aggressive extranodal lymphoma derived mostly from cytotoxic γδ T-cells. The peak incidence is in adolescents and young adults, and is more common in males. Up to 20% of HSTL arise in the setting of chronic immune suppression, most commonly solid organ transplantation or prolonged antigenic stimulation.

Gamma Delta T Cell Function in Ruminants
Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practice, 2019Gamma delta (γδ) T cells constitute a major lymphocyte population in peripheral blood and epithelial surfaces. They play nonredundant roles in host defense against diverse pathogens. Although γδ T cells share functional features with other cells of the immune system, their distinct methods of antigen recognition, rapid response, and tissue tropism make

Lifespan of gamma/delta T cells.
The Journal of experimental medicine, 1998Information on the turnover and lifespan of murine gamma/delta cells was obtained by administering the DNA precursor, bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), in the drinking water and staining lymphoid cells for BrdU incorporation. For TCR-gamma/delta (Vgamma2) transgenic mice, nearly all gamma/delta thymocytes became BrdU+ within 2 d and were released rapidly into ...

Human T cell receptor gamma delta + T cells.
Seminars in immunology, 1991TCR gamma delta + T cells represent a minority of CD3+ T cells in many species including man. The molecular structure of the TCR gamma and delta loci in man is well understood. The gamma and delta loci contain V, D, J and C gene segments. These segments do not rearrange randomly but in a coordinated, ordered fashion during thymic development. Therefore,

Gamma-Delta T Cells in the Skin
2017The skin forms the body’s primary interface with the environment and, as such, is equipped with a network of immune cells to provide the first line of defence against infection and injury. While the role of conventional alpha-beta (αβ) T cell receptor (TCR) expressing lymphocytes in skin homeostasis and pathology has been studied in great detail ...

Recognition by gamma/delta T cells.
Annual review of immunology, 1996In contrast with the study of alpha beta T cells, that of gamma delta T cells is relatively recent and stems from the discovery of their rearranged genes, rather than from any knowledge of their biological function. Thus, experiments designed to characterize their specificity and function have drawn heavily on our knowledge of alpha beta T cells ...
