Expression of c‐fos gene inhibits proteoglycan synthesis in transfected chondrocyte [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1996
The effect of expression of c‐fos gene on proteoglycan synthesis, one of the important markers of cartilage metabolism, was examined by introducing the c‐fos DNA into HCS 2/8 chondrocytes. The [35S]sulfate incorporation into proteoglycan was decreased in the c‐fos transfectants expressing exogenous c‐fos mRNA, when compared to a control transfectant. A

Characterization of Fosfomycin Resistance Gene, fosB, in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolates.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
To investigate the prevalence, location and genetic environments of fosfomycin-resistance (fos) genes in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) clinical strains, 67 fosfomycin-resistant MRSA strains were isolated from the blood and ...

Spontaneous and cytokine regulated c-fos gene expression in rheumatoid synovial cells: resistance to cytokine stimulation when the c-fos gene is overexpressed [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2000
To study the effect of cytokines on the transactivation of the c-fos gene in relation to the contribution of overexpression of c-fos/AP-1 in rheumatoid joint destruction. The promoter region (-447 to +109) of the human c-fos gene was integrated upstream of the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) reporter gene, and the effect of cytokines on the ...

Exosome-mediated transfer of miR-222 is sufficient to increase tumor malignancy in melanoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Growing evidence is showing that metastatic cell populations are able to transfer their characteristics to less malignant cells. Exosomes (EXOs) are membrane vesicles of endocytic origin able to convey their cargo of mRNAs, microRNAs (miRs),

Integrated Transcriptomics Reveals Evolutionary Trajectories and Cell Density‐Dependent Mechanisms in Aldosterone‐Producing Adenomas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Aldosterone‐producing adenomas (APAs) develop via two distinct paths: directly from adrenal zona glomerulosa (zG) cells, or stepwise from zG cells through aldosterone‐producing micronodules (APMs) before progressing to APAs. Advanced single‐cell and spatial analyses identified distinct cell states linked to oxidative stress and cell–cell interactions ...

A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.

Defining the chromatin signature of inducible genes in T cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND Specific chromatin characteristics, especially the modification status of the core histone proteins, are associated with active and inactive genes. There is growing evidence that genes that respond to environmental or developmental signals may

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

MECHANISMS OF IMMEDIATE-EARLY GENES ACTIVATION

open access: yesМедицинский вестник Юга России, 2016
In our article, we focus on molecular mechanisms of immediately early genes expression. We discuss extracellular signals that are transduced into the nucleus through a variety of signaling mechanisms to elicit changes in patterns of immediately early ...
