Ultrasound‐Activatable Piezoelectric Hydrogel Reprograms Mitochondrial Epigenetics for Osteoarthritis Therapy via the mTOR/GATD3A Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ultrasound‐activatable piezoelectric hydrogel reprograms chondrocyte mitochondrial epigenetics via the mTOR/GATD3A axis, clearing damaged mitochondria and alleviating osteoarthritis progression in both mouse models and human cartilage explants. ABSTRACT The avascular nature of cartilage hinders drug delivery for osteoarthritis (OA) therapy.

Targeting a Myeloid–Regulatory B Cell Network Reverses Immune Paralysis in Periprosthetic Joint Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

Prognostic significance of epigenetic inactivation of p16, p15, MGMT and DAPK genes in follicular lymphoma

open access: yes, 2013
In this study, methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction was used to investigate the role and potential prognostic significance of the methylation status of p16, p15, MGMT and DAPK genes in 32 specimens of follicular lymphoma (FL).

MYOD-1 in normal colonic mucosa : role as a putative biomarker? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background DNA methylation of promoter-associated CpG islands of certain genes may play a role in the development of colorectal cancer. The MYOD-1 gene which is a muscle differentiation gene has been showed to be significantly methylated in colorectal ...

Longitudinal Phenotypic Trajectories in GNAO1‐Related Disorders: Defining Disease Progression and Clinical Profiles

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Pathogenic variants in GNAO1 cause a spectrum of epilepsy, movement disorders, and developmental impairment. Clinical heterogeneity complicates prognosis and therapeutic development. We present the first longitudinal natural history study of GNAO1‐related disorders (GNAO1‐RD) to delineate phenotypic trajectories. Methods Sixty‐six individuals

Assessing the Diagnostic Accuracy of Salivary Biomarkers in Detecting Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Background: Attempts should be made to identify the molecule-based biomarkers, which give indication about the progression of precancer and malignancy of the oral area.

Relationship between inactivation of p16 gene and gastric carcinoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2003
To investigate the relationship between inactivation of p16 gene and gastric carcinoma, and the mechanism of inactivation of p16 gene in gastric carcinogenesis.40 fresh tumor tissue specimens were taken from primary gastric cancer patients. Expression of P16 protein was detected by immunohistochemical method.

Dual Action of Dipyridamole in Experimental Rheumatoid Arthritis: Suppression of Joint Inflammation and Upregulation of Muscle Anabolism via Adenosine and AMPK Pathways

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid sarcopenia, characterized by the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, is a frequent comorbidity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), linked to prolonged, severe systemic inflammation. Purinergic signaling (adenosine, AMP, and ATP) plays a crucial role in inflammation, myogenesis, and muscle hypertrophy.
