A simple two-module problem to exemplify building-block assembly under crossover
Theoretically and empirically it is clear that a genetic algorithm with crossover will outperform a genetic algorithm without crossover in some fitness landscapes, and vice versa in other landscapes.

Using genetic programming to learn and improve control knowledge [PDF]
The purpose of this article is to present a multi-strategy approach to learn heuristics for planning. This multi-strategy system, called HAMLET-EVOCK, combines a learning algorithm specialized in planning (HAMLET) and a genetic programming (GP) based ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Genetic algorithms for the generation of models with micropopulations [PDF]
Proceedings of: EvoWorkshops 2003: EvoBIO, EvoCOP, EvoIASP, EvoMUSART, EvoROB, and EvoSTIM Essex, UK, April 14–16, 2003The present article puts forward a method for an interactive model generation through the use of Genetic Algorithms applied to small ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Porosity is one of the most important reservoir characteristics because it indicates to fluid collection. Several techniques used to get good porosity prediction, so, in this study we employed seismic attributes and well log data in a genetic algorithm ...

Improved Genetic Algorithm to Reduce Mutation Testing Cost
Mutation testing is a fault-based testing technique that helps generating effective test cases. Mutation testing is computationally expensive, because it requires executing hundreds and even thousands of mutants.

Fitness peaks of dengue virus populations. [PDF]
The role of intra-host genetic diversity in dengue viral populations remains a topic of debate, particularly the impact on transmission of changes in this diversity. Several approaches have been taken to increasing and decreasing the genetic diversity of

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
