Development of a Sustainable Biocatalytic Process for Geranyl Benzoate Production Using Immobilized Lipase

This study optimized solvent‐free geranyl benzoate production using Lipozyme 435, achieving 72% conversion in 6 hours. Open reactors improved yields (>99% in 48 hours) by removing inhibitorymethanol. Methyl benzoate reduced enzyme activity by 54%, though Lipura Flex showed better resistance. Human cell tests confirmed no cytotoxicity.

Abstract Lung cancer is the leading cause of global cancer‐related morbidity and mortality, with tobacco smoking as its strongest risk factor. Nuclear factor erythroid 2‐related factor 2 (NRF2) is a redox‐regulated transcription factor frequently dysregulated in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), leading to aggressive disease and resistance to therapy.

Preclinical data suggests in‐utero (IU) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) could prevent Fanconi anemia (FA) related bone marrow failure without genotoxic conditioning or immune suppression.
