Functional compounds of einkorn and emmer genotypes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Three einkorn and two emmer genotypes were analysed for concentration of microelements (Fe, Zn and Se) and lipid soluble antioxidants (α-tocopherol, α-tocotrienol and β-carotene).

Genotypic variation in the response of pepper to salinity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Using 102 pepper (Capsicum annuum) genotypes, a greenhouse experiment has been conducted to study genotypic variation in tolerance to 100 mM sodium chloride (NaCl) in nutrient solution.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Analysis of nucleotide diversity in Coffea spp. (W153) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Marker-assisted selection becomes a reality for many crops; in perennial crops, the utilization of molecular markers in breeding programs can speed up genotype selection. However, the most important commercial coffee species - allotetraploid C. arabica -

Genotyping with TaqMAMA

open access: yesGenomics, 2004
TaqMAMA combines the quantitative strengths of TaqMan with the allele-specific PCR of MAMA. In this article we develop TaqMAMA as a technique for screening human DNA samples for known genetic polymorphisms. In the first set of experiments, plasmids that model all types of genetic polymorphisms were used to understand the relationship between TaqMAMA ...

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

Screening of Bread Wheat Genotypes for Drought Tolerance Using Phenotypic and Proline Analyses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Drought stress is one of the leading constraints to wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production globally. Breeding for drought tolerance using novel genetic resources is an important mitigation strategy.

Performance of contrasted rice genotypes grown under water saving irrigation and trait discovery for genotype improvement : [Abstract, P 3.06] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Water saving technologies without reduction on grain yield, like alternate wetting and drying (AWD), have been implemented successfully in irrigated rice fields.
