Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

Molecular typing of Salmonella Typhimurium isolates using repetitive sequence- based PCR: Insights into genetic relatedness beyond antibiotic resistance

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences
Multidrug resistant non-typhoidal Salmonella infections are a threat to food safety impacting human health in the form of hospitalizations and in severe cases, fatalities.

Electroacupuncture Improves the Learning and Memory by Modulating Hippocampal Glucose Metabolism through IGF1/IGF1R Signaling in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electroacupuncture (EA) ameliorates learning and memory function in 5×FAD mice by regulating the brain glucose metabolic network. This neuroprotective effect is closely related to enhancing neuronal energy utilization via the IGF1/IGF1R signaling pathway.

Genome‐Wide CRISPR Screen Identifies a microRNA Orchestrating Pleiotropic Resistance to Targeted Therapy and T Cell Immunity in Melanoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A genome‐wide microRNA CRISPR screen identifies miR‐18a as a master regulator of cross‐resistance in melanoma. Loss of miR‐18a activates the AJUBA–YAP/Hippo axis to confer BRAFi resistance and enhances THBS1–CD47 interaction to impair CD8+ T cell immunity. hnRNP A1 is identified as an upstream regulator of miR‐18a processing.

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

PREVALENCE OF CELIAC DISEASE PREDISPOSING GENOTYPES, INCLUDING HLA-DQ2.2 VARIANT, IN BRAZILIAN CHILDREN

open access: yesArquivos de Gastroenterologia
BACKGROUND: Celiac disease is an autoimmune enteropathy triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. Almost all celiac patients carry immune recognition genes coding for HLA-DQ2.5 and DQ8 heterodimers.

Accurate determination of phenotypic information from historic thoroughbred horses by single base extension

open access: yes, 2010
Historic DNA have the potential to identify phenotypic information otherwise invisible in the historical, archaeological and palaeontological record. In order to determine whether a single nucleotide polymorphism typing protocol based on single based ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Sequencing vs. amplification for the estimation of allele dosages in sugarcane (Saccharum spp.)

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences
Premise Detecting single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in a cost‐effective way is fundamental in any plant breeding pipeline. Here, we compare three genotyping techniques for their ability to reproduce the allele dosage of SNPs of interest in sugarcane
