Social Effects in Simple Computer Model of Ageing [PDF]
A simple evolutionary model for biological ageing is modified such that it requires a minimum population for survival, like in human society. This social effect leads to a transition between extinction and survival of the species.

Is Gerontology in Crisis? [PDF]
A recently published Science article reported that efforts to reproduce findings from 100 studies published in three leading psychology journals concluded that more than 60% of the findings did not hold up when retested (Open Science Collation, 2015). While the Reproducibility Project found no evidence of fraud, it concluded that the evidence for most ...

This study investigates hTert‐immortalized human nucleus pulposus (iHNPCs) and annulus fibrosus (iHAFCs) cells for intervertebral disc (IVD) regeneration and spinal fusion models. A 3D‐printed citrate‐based scaffold loaded with BMP9‐stimulated iHAFCs and BMP2‐stimulated iHNPCs effectively promotes bone and cartilage formation, mimicking the IVD ...

Rejuvenation by cell reprogramming: A new horizon in gerontology [PDF]
The discovery of animal cloning and subsequent development of cell reprogramming technology were quantum leaps as they led to the achievement of rejuvenation by cell reprogramming and the emerging view that aging is a reversible epigenetic process. Here,

High glucose‐ and acid‐responsive hydrogel with dynamic covalent bond solubilized with flavonoids (Gel‐Flavonoids) is designed for diabetic wound healing. The Gel‐Flavonoids adapt to irregular wound shapes and release antioxidants in high‐glucose environments, effectively reducing reactive oxygen species.

Complementarity between survival and mortality [PDF]
Accurate demographic functions help scientists define and understand longevity. We summarize a new demographic model, the Weon model, and show the application to the demographic data for Switzerland (1876-2002). Particularly, the Weon model simply defines the maximum longevity, which is induced in nature by the mortality dynamics.
