Development of a Validated UPLC-MS/MS Method for Analyzing Major Ginseng Saponins from Various Ginseng Species

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Ginsenosides, which contain one triterpene and one or more sugar moieties, are the major bioactive compounds of ginseng. The aim of this study was to develop and optimize a specific and reliable ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass ...

Antiallergic Activity of Ginsenoside Rh2

open access: yesBiological & Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2003
The antiallergic activities of ginsenosides, which were isolated from acid-treated ginseng (Panax ginseng, Araliaceae), and their metabolites by human intestinal bacteria were measured. Ginsenoside Rh2, which is a main metabolite, had the most potent inhibitory activity on beta-hexosaminidase release from RBL-2H3 cells and in the passive cutaneous ...

Ginsenosides from Heat Processed Ginseng

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2009
A new dammarane-glycoside, ginsenoside Rz1 (1), was isolated from heat-treated Panax ginseng C. A. MEYER (Araliaceae) with ginsenosides Rk1 and Rg5. The structure of 1 was established to be (Z)-12beta-hydroxydammara-20(22),24-dien-3beta-yl O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucospyranoside by spectroscopic means.

Biotransformation of Ginsenoside Rb1 to Ginsenoside Rd and 7 Rare Ginsenosides Using Irpex lacteus with HPLC-HRMS/MS Identification

open access: yesACS Omega
The biotransformation of ginsenosides using microorganisms represents a promising and ecofriendly approach for the production of rare ginsenosides. The present study reports on the biotransformation of ginsenoside Rb1 using the fungus Irpex lacteus, resulting in the production of ginsenoside Rd and seven rare ginsenosides with novel structures ...
