Detection of the Hepatotoxins, Carboxyparquin and Parquin, in Cestrum, Sessea, and Vestia Species (Solanaceae)

Several species within the tribe, Cestreae, are implicated in being hepatotoxic to livestock. Carboxyparquin and/or parquin are implicated as the toxic principles. Herbarium vouchers are useful resources to screen for the occurrence of these toxins in species of Cestrum, Sessea, and Vestia.
