Hydrogen‐deuterium exchange reveals catalytically linked protein flexibility in myoglobin‐mediated intramolecular C(sp3)‐H activation

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract A comprehensive understanding of the biophysical parameters that dictate high catalytic efficiency in enzymes is essential for advancing both fundamental enzymology and its applications. Experimental evidence suggests that protein dynamics play a pivotal role in transiently shaping active site configurations, facilitating the efficient ...

Mitochondrial Respiratory Supercomplex Assembly Factor COX7RP Contributes to Lifespan Extension in Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
Mitochondrial respiratory supercomplex assembly factor COX7RP improves metabolic homeostasis and contributes to lifespan extension in mice. The overexpression of COX7RP reduces white adipose tissue mass and downregulates senescence‐associated secreted phenotype‐related genes in the tissue, suggesting that COX7RP plays a role in preventing aging through

Cerebral blood flow trajectories in paediatric sickle cell anaemia by age, region, and treatment associations

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 208, Issue 1, Page 367-372, January 2026.
Opposite to the age trend in healthy children, cerebral blood flow increases with age in children with sickle cell anaemia. Early treatment with hydroxyurea (hydroxycarbamide) may help slow this abnormal trend and protect brain functions.
