From Theory to Practice: Which Biomarkers Are Ready for Predicting Response in Advanced HCC?
ABSTRACT Systemic therapies for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have expanded considerably with the advent of tyrosine kinase inhibitors, immune checkpoint inhibitors and immunotherapy–anti‐angiogenic combinations. However, despite this therapeutic diversification, first‐line treatment selection remains largely empirical, as few biomarkers are ...

BiSCALE: A pathology‐driven deep learning framework for multi‐scale gene expression prediction from whole‐slide images. It accurately infers bulk and near‐cellular spot‐level expression, links predictions to clinical phenotypes, identifies disease‐associated niches, and enables applications in risk stratification and cell‐identity annotation, providing

The central function of telomerase is maintaining the telomere length. However, several extra-telomeric roles have been identified for this protein complex. In this study, we evaluated the effect of the silencing of the catalytic subunit of telomerase (TERT) on the expression of candidate microRNAs, cell activation markers and glial-related genes in a ...

Spatiotemporal Transcriptomics Characterizes Immune Microenvironment During Mouse Liver Aging
T cells are the most dynamically altered immune population in the aged liver. Accumulation of CD8+ Tex in aged livers. Spatial enrichment of CD8+ Tex in the portal vein zone. PP hepatocytes promote T cell exhaustion via Lpin1. T cell exhaustion correlates with liver disease progression.

An overlap between proteomic and transcriptomic findings in experiments testing brain responses to glucocorticoids. A shows that 455 proteins responsive to glucocorticoids were not confirmed at the transcriptomic level while 4 proteins were matched with significant differences in mRNA in all 8 datasets derived from transcriptomic experiments.

The PPARγ2 P12A polymorphism is not associated with all-cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus [PDF]
The high mortality risk of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus may well be explained by the several comorbidities and/or complications. Also the intrinsic genetic component predisposing to diabetes might have a role in shaping the risk of diabetes ...

PO-249 GLUL knockdown induces drug resistance in non-small cell lung cancer cells
ABSTRACT Introduction Chemotherapy has advanced well in the treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancers (NSCLCs), but its effectiveness is limited by drug resistance. Unfortunately, cancer drug resistance becoming inevitable involving alterations in epigenetic regulation, molecular signalling, and metabolic rewiring.

Spatial multi‐omics defines a DLL4–NOTCH3–driven capillary–mCAF axis orchestrating fibrotic remodeling and immune exclusion in hepatocellular carcinoma tumor cores, conferring immune checkpoint blockade resistance. Targeting stromal NOTCH3 disrupts this pro‐fibrotic niche, enhances T cell infiltration, and synergizes with anti‐PD‐1 therapy ...
