CENPT prevents renal cell carcinoma against ferroptosis by enhancing the synthesis of glutathione

open access: yesCell Death and Disease
Cancer is characterized by chromosomal instability (CIN), which leads to tumor heterogeneity and other malignant features. CIN is caused by abnormal centromere and kinetochore function, which results in aneuploidy, rearrangements, and micronucleus ...

Dysfunctional TRIM31 of POMC Neurons Provokes Hypothalamic Injury and Peripheral Metabolic Disorder under Long‐Term Fine Particulate Matter Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...

Gamma‐Glutamyl Cysteine Ligase Activity as a Proxy for Human T Cell Function and Drug‐Induced Immunosuppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science
T cell effector functions are critical for immune defense, but their dysregulation can cause diseases like immune exhaustion in cancer and loss of tolerance in autoimmunity.

ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.

Polymorphism of Glutamate-Cysteine Ligase Subunit Catalytic (GCLC) Gene in Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Biological Sciences, 2017
The biomarker of oxidative stress in pulmonary tuberculosis patients has not been found. Oxidative stress occurs due to the low level of antioxidants. Single nucleotide polymorphism of glutamate-cysteine ligase subunit catalytic (GCLC) gene namely -129C/T GCLC has been reported to have an association with a risk factor of oxidative stress ...

Metaproteome Analysis of Short‐Term Thermal Stress in Three Sympatric Coral Species Reveals Divergent Host Responses

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Short‐term thermal stress triggers distinct molecular responses in three sympatric coral species with contrasting thermal resilience. Proteomic and metabolomic profiling reveal both species‐specific and limited shared pathways underlying these stress responses.
