Immunomodulatory activity of small molecular (≤3 kDa) Coix glutelin enzymatic hydrolysate

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2017
In this study, small molecular (≤3 kDa) Coix glutelin hydrolysate (CGH) was obtained by the method of enzymatic hydrolysis and then immunomodulatory activity was evaluated in vitro and in vivo.

Studies on the major seed proteins of some grain crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The general properties, classification and distribution of plant proteins are discussed within an agricultural context and the protein content and composition of several grain crops are tabulated.

FUSCA3 from barley unveils a common transcriptional regulation of seed-specific genes between cereals and Arabidopsis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Accumulation of storage compounds in the embryo and endosperm of developing seeds is a highly regulated process that allows seedling growth upon germination until photosynthetic capacity is acquired. A critical regulatory element in the promoters of seed

Effect of amaranth proteins on the RAS system: In vitro, in vivo and ex vivo assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The aim of this work was to analyse the hypotensive effect of amaranthprotein/peptides on spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). The mechanism of action of these peptides was studied in vivo and ex vivo.

Lupin Species and Protein Fraction Type Affect the Conformational State and Functional Performance of the Proteins

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2026.
Defatted white and blue lupin seed flours were each sequentially fractionated into albumin, globulin, and glutelin followed by structure and function evaluation. The albumins had the best solubility profile, globulins produced emulsions with smallest oil droplet sizes, while glutelins had the highest foaming capacity.

Bacteriozyme Cooperated with Solid-fermented Walnut Glutenin to Prepare Bacteriostatic Peptides

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
As a by-product of oil extraction, walnut meal was often used as feed or discarded, resulting in a waste of a large amount of high-quality protein resources.

Heterogeneity in cDNA clones encoding rice glutelin [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1987
Clones encoding the rice storage protein glutelin were selected from a cDNA library of immature rice seeds. Sequence analysis and hybridization studies on these clones provide insight into the nature of heterogeneity in glutelin genes. Based particularly on major differences in the 3′‐noncoding regions, it appears that glutelin genes fall into two sub ...

Sorghum Protein: Ethanol‐Based Extraction to Improve Yield and Properties

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2026.
A key barrier to expanding the use of sorghum‐based proteins is the challenge related to protein extraction and utilization via conventional methods. This work evaluated a blended solvent approach (ethanol:alkali) for protein extraction from ground, pearled sorghum and wet‐milled sorghum protein meal to improve yield and properties.
