Research Communication: Prevalence of Acute Reactions After Gluten Ingestion in Patients With Coeliac Disease—A Retrospective Study

Accidental gluten ingestion in coeliac patients on a strict gluten‐free diet can lead to acute symptoms, often within 4 h. Vomiting predominates in children and diarrhoea in adults. Stricter dietary adherence was associated with increased frequency of acute reactions.
