Loss of Intestinal MSTN Promotes GLP‐1 Secretion Through SGLT1 Palmitoylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intestinal MSTN deficiency enhances glucose‐stimulated GLP‐1 secretion and glucose tolerance in high‐fat diet‐fed mice. Mechanistically, loss of MSTN promotes YY1‐associated ZDHHC20 expression, increasing SGLT1 S‐palmitoylation at Cys301 and its plasma membrane localization in L cells.

Structural Basis of Resistant Starch (RS) in Bread: Natural and Commercial Alternatives

open access: yesFoods, 2019
Bread is categorized as having a high amount of rapidly digested starch that may result in a rapid increase in postprandial blood glucose and, therefore, poor health outcomes. This is mostly the result of the complete gelatinization that starch undergoes

GLYCEMIC RESPONSE AND GLYCEMIC INDEX OF BANGLADESHI HONEY IN TYPE 2 DIABETIC PATIENTS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The hyperglycemic effect of carbohydrate in the forms of 20 g each of glucose and sucrose and 26 g of honey were studied in eight normal volunteers and 22 type 2 diabetic patients.

A low-glycemic index meal and bedtime snack prevents postprandial hyperglycemia and associated rises in inflammatory markers, providing protection from early but not late nocturnal hypoglycemia following evening exercise in type 1 diabetes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
OBJECTIVE To examine the influence of the glycemic index (GI) of foods consumed after evening exercise on postprandial glycemia, metabolic and inflammatory markers, and nocturnal glycemic control in type 1 diabetes.

Atlas‐Guided CD55‐Enriched Neutrophil Extracellular Vesicles for Complement–Macrophage Modulation in Diabetic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diabetic wounds are characterized by persistent inflammation and impaired immune resolution, yet the therapeutic translation of single‐cell atlases into rational immunomodulatory strategies remains limited. Here, integration of diabetic‐wound single‐cell transcriptomic datasets identifies a neutrophil subpopulation enriched in cluster of ...

Injectable Peptide‐Based Functional Amyloid Hydrogels as Tunable Depots for Sustained Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An injectable and tunable peptide‐based functional amyloid hydrogel provides sustained insulin release while preserving insulin stability and bioactivity. The hydrogel enables prolonged glycemic regulation in vivo, exhibits excellent biocompatibility, and shows no detectable IAPP and α‐Syn heterologous cross‐seeding, highlighting its potential as a ...

Differential glucose bioaccessibility from native and modified taro-starches in the absence or presence of beet juice

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2020
The speed of starch-digestion defines peak blood-glucose concentrations. Slow digestion is beneficial for diabetic individuals. To investigate the effects on blood-glucose it is important to be able to predict the amount of digestible starch.

Chinese Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of Finerenone in Geriatric Comorbidities

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) overactivation drives inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis in the heart, kidneys, and vasculature, leading to cardiorenal dysfunction. MR signaling promotes hypertrophy, remodeling, and injury through pathways like oxidative stress and inflammation, resulting in vascular stiffness and progressive organ damage ...

THE EFFECT OF HAY TYPE AND SOAKING ON GLYCEMIC RESPONSE IN HORSES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Dietary management of equine metabolic syndrome includes minimizing glycemic response. Soaking hay prior to feeding reduces nonstructural carbohydrate content, but little research indicates if soaking hay reduces glycemic response.

Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interaction of enavogliflozin, a sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor, with glimepiride and metformin in healthy participants

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Enavogliflozin, a sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor, is expected to be coadministered with antihyperglycaemic drugs with different mechanisms of action. This study aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) interactions between enavogliflozin, glimepiride and metformin.
