Characterization of antibody-mediated neutralization directed against the hypervariable region 1 of hepatitis C virus E2 glycoprotein [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The hypervariable region 1 (HVR1) comprising the first 27 aa of E2 glycoprotein is a target for neutralizing antibodies against hepatitis C virus (HCV), but the mechanisms of this neutralization in the cell-culture-infectious genotype 2a strain JFH1 ...

Screening of Phenanthroquinolizidine Alkaloid Derivatives for Inducing Cell Death of L1210 Leukemia Cells with Negative and Positive P-glycoprotein Expression

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
We describe the screening of a set of cryptopleurine derivatives, namely thienoquinolizidine derivatives and (epi-)benzo analogs with bioactive phenanthroquinolizidine alkaloids that induce cytotoxic effects in the mouse lymphocytic leukemia cell line ...

Synthesis of antagonists of Myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG) for conformational and SAR studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Damage to the central nervous system (CNS) of higher vertebrates, including humans, often results in devastating and persistent functional deficits.

A fifth human cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B genotype

open access: yesResearch in Virology, 1998
Genetic variation in glycoprotein B (gB) may play a role in human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) pathogenesis. Using restriction endonuclease digestion and DNA sequencing, a unique gB genotype was identified in eight HCMV strains isolated from five patients with the acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Prognosis of Human Cytomegalovirus in Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapeutic Treatment in Egypt and an Emergent Prevalence of Glycoprotein B-5

open access: yes, 2022
The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a global opportunistic β-herpes virus causing severe diseases in immune-compromised patients, such as malignant tumor patients, especially those undergoing chemotherapeutic treatment.

Distribution of B-cell epitopes on the pseudorabies virus glycoprotein B

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1999
In order to map antigenically important regions of glycoprotein B (gB) of pseudorabies virus (PrV), a panel of recombinant fragments of gB expressed in E. coli and truncated fragments of gB generated by cleavage of purified native gB with trypsin and cyanogen bromide was analysed by using 26 monoclonal antibodies directed against gB.

Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein B Groups Associated with Retinitis in AIDS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Infectious Diseases, 1996
To determine if cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis occurs more frequently in patients infected with certain strains CMV isolates from the blood of 44 patients with advanced human immunodeficiency virus disease were grouped by the DNA sequence or the restriction endonuclease digest pattern of a portion of the glycoprotein B (gB) gene.

Spatiotemporal Expression of Pregnancy-Specific Glycoprotein Gene rnCGMl in Rat Placenta [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
As a basis towards a better understanding of the role of the pregnancy-specific glycoprotein (PSG) family in the maintenance of pregnancy, detailed investigations are described on the expression of a recently identified rat PSG gene (rnCGM1) at the mRNA ...
