Extracellular vesicles derived from silicate‐stimulated antler reserve mesenchymal cells alleviate kidney damage in diabetic nephropathy through inhibiting abnormal angiogenesis and apoptosis

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
A novel bioengineering platform was invented to harness simple silicate ions to command highly regenerative deer antler cells, transforming them into super‐factories that massively produce customized extracellular vesicles (Si‐RM‐EVs) rich in therapeutic miR‐148a‐3p, dwarfing natural EV output and payload.

Morphological and Hormonal Identification of Porcine Atretic Follicles and Relationship Analysis of Hormone Receptor Levels During Granulosa Cell Apoptosis In vivo

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2014
Recent reports have demonstrated that follicular atresia is initiated or caused by granulosa cell apoptosis followed by theca cell degeneration in mammalian ovaries, but the mechanism of follicular atresia is still to be elucidated.

CNOT6L regulates energy metabolism in the ovarian granulosa cells associated with polycystic ovary syndrome

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
The endocrine functions exerted by ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) are crucial factors in maintaining follicle development, as oocyte development relies on providing energy substrates and cytokines by ovarian granulosa cells.

Harbingers of change: Towards a mechanistic understanding of anticipatory plasticity in animal systems

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Phenotypic plasticity is a strategy by which animals alter behaviour, morphology and/or physiology in response to cues of current conditions to cope with environmental heterogeneity.

Cathepsin B Regulates Ovarian Reserve Quality and Quantity via Mitophagy by Modulating IGF1R Turnover

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Autophagy regulates ovarian reserve, with Cathepsin B playing a critical role in aging. Inhibition of Cathepsin B increases follicle count, enhances IGF1R–AKT–mTOR signaling and improves mitochondrial function without compromising fertility. This conserved mechanism suggests potential therapeutic strategies to delay ovarian aging and sustain fertility,

The assembly and activation of the PANoptosome promote porcine granulosa cell programmed cell death during follicular atresia

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Biotechnology
Background Follicular atresia significantly impairs female fertility and hastens reproductive senescence. Apoptosis of granulosa cells is the primary cause of follicular atresia.

Granulosa cell tumor of ovary: A clinicopathological study of four cases with brief review of literature

open access: yesJournal of Mid-Life Health, 2014
Introduction: Adult granulosa cell tumor (GCT) is a rare ovarian malignancy having good prognosis in comparison with other epithelial tumors. The study aims to collect data of all granulosa cell tumors diagnosed in ESIC Medical College & PGIMSR ...

A Comprehensive Multiomics Signature of Doxorubicin‐Induced Cellular Senescence in the Postmenopausal Human Ovary

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Explants of human postmenopausal ovarian cortex and medulla were treated with doxorubicin for 24 h followed by culture for up to 10 days in doxorubicin‐free medium. Single nuclei sequencing and proteomics revealed an unbiased signature of ovarian senescence driven by epithelial cells in the cortex and stromal cells in the cortex and medulla ...

Melatonin attenuates palmitic acid-induced mouse granulosa cells apoptosis via endoplasmic reticulum stress

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2019
Background Palmitic acid (PA), the main component of dietary saturated fat, causes apoptosis in many cell types, including mouse granulosa cell. Melatonin, an important endogenous hormone, has beneficial effects on female reproductive processes.

Luteinizing hormone receptor knockout mouse: What has it taught us?

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Luteinizing hormone (LH), along with its agonist choriongonadotropin (hCG) in humans, is the key hormone responsible for the tropic regulation of the gonadal function. LH and hCG act through their cognate receptor, the luteinizing hormone/choriongonadotropin receptor (LHCGR; more appropriately LHR in rodents lacking CG), located in the testis ...
