Tracking Cell Signals in Fluorescent Images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we present the techniques for tracking cell signal in GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) images of growing cell colonies. We use such tracking for both data extraction and dynamic modeling of intracellular processes.

Green Extraction of Antioxidant Polyphenols from Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) [PDF]

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2020
In this study, the feasibility of improving the extraction yield of green tea antioxidant polyphenols by the combination of ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was investigated. Choline chloride (ChCl)-glycerol was selected as the best DES among 12 ChCl-based DESs to extract tea antioxidant polyphenols.

Impact of instant controlled pressure drop pre-treatment on solvent extraction of edible oil from rapeseed seeds

open access: yesOilseeds and fats, crops and lipids, 2014
The fundamental analysis and modeling of kinetics of solvent extraction of rapeseed oil enable the quantification of the “washing” and “diffusion” steps. Both are illustrated through “starting accessibility” and “effective diffusivity”

Glycerol as a cheap, safe and sustainable solvent for the catalytic and regioselective β,β-diarylation of acrylates over palladium nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Herein we show that glycerol can be considered as a promising cheap and green solvent for the regioselective β,β-diarylation of alkenes. Whereas this reaction is generally catalyzed under an inert atmosphere by expensive phosphine or carbene-palladium ...
