Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Assay Using Fluorescent MANT-GDP

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2018
GTPases are molecular switches that cycle between the inactive GDP-bound state and the active GTP-bound state. GTPases exchange nucleotides either by its intrinsic nucleotide exchange or by interaction with guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs ...

Allosteric regulation accompanied by oligomeric state changes of Trypanosoma brucei GMP reductase through cystathionine-β-synthase domain

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Trypanosoma brucei guanosine 5′-monophosphate reductase (TbGMPR) catalyses the conversion of GMP to inosine 5′-monophosphate and contains a cystathionine-β-synthase (CBS) domain. Here the authors combine X-ray crystallography and kinetic measurements and

GTP binding to translation factor eIF2B stimulates its guanine nucleotide exchange activity

open access: yesiScience, 2021
Summary: eIF2B is the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) required for cytoplasmic protein synthesis initiation in eukaryotes and its regulation within the integrated stress response (ISR).

Regulation of phosphoinositide breakdown by guanine nucleotides

open access: yesLife Sciences, 1986
Phosphoinositide hydrolysis is coupled to receptor systems involved in the elevation of cytosolic Ca2+ and activation of protein kinase C. In cell-free systems, guanine nucleotides are required to transduce the effects of receptor activation to phosphoinositide breakdown.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1-expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion. [PDF]

open access: yesMol Oncol
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Kinetics of the interactions between yeast elongation factors 1A and 1Bα, guanine nucleotides, and aminoacyl-tRNA. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The interactions of elongation factor 1A (eEF1A) from Saccharomyces cerevisiae with elongation factor 1Bα (eEF1Bα), guanine nucleotides, and aminoacyl-tRNA were studied kinetically by fluorescence stopped-flow.

Short Term Effect of Caffeine on Purine, Pyrimidine and Pyridine Metabolism in Rice () Seedlings

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2015
As part of our studies on the physiological and ecological function of caffeine, we investigated the effect of exogenously supplied caffeine on purine, pyrimidine and pyridine metabolism in rice seedlings.

The regulation of adenylate cyclase by guanine nucleotides in Dictyostelium discoideum membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Extracellular cAMP induces the activation of adenylate cyclase in Dictyostelium discoideum cells. Conditions for both stimulation and inhibition of adenylate cyclase by guanine nucleotides in membranes are reported. Stimulation and inhbition were induced

Guanine nucleotides in ischaemic heart [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
In isolated perfused rat hearts the concentration of guanine nucleotides following periods of global no-flow ischaemia and reperfusion were found to parallel those of adenine nucleotides under all conditions tested.
