ALTERATIONS IN PROTEIN AND NUCLEIC ACID METABOLISM OF LYMPHOMA 6C3HED-OG CELLS IN MICE GIVEN GUINEA PIG SERUM [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Lymphoma 6C3HED-OG cells, known from previous work to be susceptible to the effects of guinea pig serum in vivo and dependent upon extrinsic asparagine for protein synthesis and growth in vitro, remained for the most part morphologically intact and ...

Pig carcass decomposition dynamics: Insights into carcass disposal for emergency animal disease management

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Australia is free from many economically devastating emergency animal diseases (EADs) that threaten livestock production in neighbouring countries. In Australia, an important consideration for EAD control is managing susceptible feral animal populations, especially in remote and inaccessible areas where carcass disposal poses considerable logistical ...

Species Difference in the Contribution of T-Type Calcium Current to Cardiac Pacemaking as Revealed by R(−)-Efonidipine

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
The contribution of the T-type Ca2+ current to cardiac pacemaking was examined in isolated right atrial tissue from the mouse, guinea pig, and rabbit using a specific blocker, R(−)-efonidipine.

Fetal growth restriction adversely impacts trajectory of hippocampal neurodevelopment and function

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Hippocampal neuron dendritogenesis occurs rapidly in late fetal gestation and forms the foundation for connectivity and long term function. Fetal growth restriction caused by placental insufficiency is associated with reduced dendritogenesis in hippocampal neurons, resulting in a significant decrease in the trajectory of neuro‐development.

Rescue of loss‐of‐function long QT syndrome‐associated mutations in KV7.1/KCNE1 by the endocannabinoid N‐arachidonoyl‐L‐serine (ARA‐S)

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Congenital long QT syndrome (LQTS) involves genetic mutations affecting ion channels, leading to a prolonged QT interval and increased risk of potentially lethal ventricular arrhythmias. Mutations in the genes encoding KV7.1/KCNE1 are the most frequent, with channel loss‐of‐function contributing to LQTS.
