A first‐harmonic push–push oscillator based active integrated dual‐beam switchable array antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 59, Issue 5, March 2023., 2023
Conceptual diagram of the proposed beam switchable AIAA. The proposed AIAA comprises a first‐harmonic push–push oscillator, four linearly polarized microstrip antennas, and a switchable feed network. By using the switchable feed network, the main beam direction of the radiation pattern can be switched between two states.

Planar gunn diode characterisation and resonators elements to realise oscillator circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The paper describes the planar Gunn diode, which is well suited to providing milli-metric and tera hertz sources using microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) technologies. Different planar Gunn electrode geometries are described along with DC, RF

Over seven decades of solar microwave data obtained with Toyokawa and Nobeyama Radio Polarimeters

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 10, Issue 1, Page 114-129, January 2023., 2023
Upper left: Toyokawa Radio Polarimeter (ToRP: Behnde) and 8‐element solar grating array (Front). Upper Right: Nobeyama Radio Polarimeter (NoRP). Lower: Long‐term variation of microwave fluxes (colors) and sunspot (black) from the 1950s to 2021. Abstract Monitoring observations of solar microwave fluxes and their polarization began in Japan during the ...

A planar Gunn diode operating above 100 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We show the experimental realization of a 108-GHz planar Gunn diode structure fabricated in GaAs/AlGaAs. There is a considerable interest in such devices since they lend themselves to integration into millimeter-wave and terahertz integrated circuits ...

Graphene‐Based Microwave Circuits: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 34, Issue 48, December 1, 2022., 2022
A comprehensive review on the employment of graphene in microwave circuits is presented. The review starts with methods of the growth and transfer of graphene followed by different graphene‐based devices. Thenceforth, exploiting these devices in different circuits is discussed.

The wideband tunability of double Gunn diodes

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Gunn diodes use the Ridley–Watkins–Hilsum effect to generate low noise millimeter wave signals for communication and sensing applications. However, Monte Carlo calculations indicate that the velocity–field characteristics of compensated GaAs contain a ...

Towards super‐resolved terahertz microscopy for cellular imaging

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, Volume 288, Issue 3, Page 207-217, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Biomedical imaging includes the use of a variety of techniques to study organs and tissues. Some of the possible imaging modalities are more spread at clinical level (CT, MRI, PET), while others, such as light and electron microscopy are preferred in life sciences research. The choice of the imaging modalities can be based on the capability to

Autodyne signal features of frequency-locked microwave oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2019
The research results on the autodyne signal formation in microwave oscillators, which are exposed under the impact of the proper reflected emission and, at the same time, of the external frequency-locked signal are presented.

Numerical and Experimental Investigations of Self-mixing Effect of a Planar Gunn Diode Oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, we investigate the self-mixing effect of planar Gunn diode oscillators numerically and experimentally. The simulation shows a 4 μm long GaAs-based heterostructure planar Gunn diode can generate not only an oscillation frequency of 27.5 GHz

Dynamic characteristics of frequency-locked autodynes [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2019
The results of research into the dynamic characteristics of microwave oscillators under the influence of both their own reflected radiation and external synchronising effect are presented.
