Toward Predicting Pandemic Potential: A Comparative Analysis of Virus‐Host Interactions Between Diverse Influenza A Viruses and the Human Innate Immune System

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Zoonotic infections caused by influenza A viruses (IAVs) of animal origin are a major public health concern, as they may represent the initial step toward the emergence of a pandemic strain. The host range of IAVs is shaped by species‐specific virus‐host interactions, and several host barriers have been identified that restrict the adaptation ...

Long Noncoding RNA-H19 Contributes to Atherosclerosis and Induces Ischemic Stroke via the Upregulation of Acid Phosphatase 5

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Objective: Atherosclerosis is closely associated with ischemic stroke, and long noncoding RNA-H19 (lncRNA-H19) might be a potential target for treating atherosclerosis.

Refining the Vertebrate Mitochondrial 12S rRNA Secondary Structure by Comparative Analysis

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This flowchart outlines the comprehensive workflow of the study, integrating diverse bioinformatics tools (e.g., NCBI2GO, SSU‐align, bpRNA) and their sequential interactions. Key steps, such as data preprocessing, structural prediction, and evolutionary analysis, are depicted with their respective outputs (e.g., standardized records, consensus ...

Up-regulation of long non-coding RNA H19 ameliorates renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis by reducing lipid deposition and inflammatory response through regulation of the microRNA-130a-3p/long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 1 axis

open access: yesNon-coding RNA Research
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 is an extensively studied lncRNA that is related to numerous pathological changes. Our previous findings have documented that serum lncRNA H19 levels are decreased in patients with chronic kidney disorder and lncRNA H19 ...

Long non‐coding RNAs at the crossroads of inflammation, cancer and angiogenesis: Molecular mechanisms and their potential as therapeutic targets

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs), a broad class of non‐protein‐coding RNAs, are characterized as new regulators of gene expression at the epigenetic, transcriptional, and post‐transcriptional level. Thus, lncRNAs are involved in the regulation of physiological processes and the development of human diseases and cancer by modulating proinflammatory ...

Variants in the Imprinted IGF2 Gene: A Review and Phasing of De Novo Variants Using Long‐Read Sequencing

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
Pathogenic IGF2 variants on the paternal allele can cause Silver–Russell syndrome, with highly variable growth and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Long‐read sequencing can determine the parental origin of de novo IGF2 variants via methylation patterns without parental samples, improving diagnostics for imprinted genes.

H19 overexpression promotes leukemogenesis and predicts unfavorable prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesClinical Epigenetics, 2018
Background The long non-coding RNA H19 plays a crucial role in solid tumor initiation and progression. However, the potential role of H19 and its clinical significance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain largely elusive.

The H19/miR‐760/BST2 regulatory axis sustains breast cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
H19 and BST2 promote breast cancer aggressiveness through their reciprocal coregulation by miR‐760. Since both transcripts are targeted by miR‐760, overexpression of one sequesters the microRNA and relieves repression of the other: H19 raises BST2 levels, and BST2 raises H19 levels.
