Enviromics and Abiotic Enviromics: Enhancing Stress Biology and Plant Resilience Breeding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental stressors are captured through high‐throughput envirotyping and integrated into an enviromic framework with genomic, transcriptomic, phenomic, and environmental data. AI/ML models enable prediction and guide marker‐assisted selection, genomic selection, genome editing, and gene pyramiding toward improved abiotic stress tolerance, yield ...

ZBTB18 Dysfunction Promotes Neuropathic Pain via CHD4‐based Epigenetic Disinhibition of CLIC1 Channels in Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a novel functional role of ZBTB18 in regulating trigeminal‐mediated neuropathic pain. Nerve injury reduces ZBTB18 in trigeminal ganglion neurons, impairing CHD4/NuRD recruitment and de‐repressing Clic1. Elevated CLIC1 enhances chloride channel activity and neuronal hyperexcitability, thereby driving pain.

Prognostic impact of H3K27me3 expression on locoregional progression after chemoradiotherapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2009
Background Trimethylation of lysine 27 on histone H3 (H3K27me3) by enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) is an epigenetic mark that mediates gene silencing. EZH2 is overexpressed and correlates with poor prognosis in many cancers.

Long Noncoding RNAs in Aortic Dissection: Mechanistic Roles and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Aortic dissection (AD) involves vascular inflammation, VSMC dysfunction, and ECM degradation. LncRNAs regulate AD progression via ceRNA networks, with great potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets, while further clinical validation is needed.

H3.3K27M mutant proteins reprogram epigenome by sequestering the PRC2 complex to poised enhancers

open access: yeseLife, 2018
Expression of histone H3.3K27M mutant proteins in human diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) results in a global reduction of tri-methylation of H3K27 (H3K27me3), and paradoxically, H3K27me3 peaks remain at hundreds of genomic loci, a dichotomous ...

Heat Stress in Quail: Impacts on Health and Productivity, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts physiological homeostasis in quail, inducing oxidative stress, immune dysregulation, and metabolic imbalance, which impair growth, reproduction, product quality, and welfare. Integrating nutritional, environmental, and genetic–epigenetic strategies enhances thermotolerance, sustains productivity, and supports climate‐smart quail ...

Elevated H3K27me3 levels sensitize osteosarcoma to cisplatin

open access: yesClinical Epigenetics, 2019
Background In osteosarcoma (OS), chemotherapy resistance has become one of the greatest issues leading to high mortality among patients. However, the mechanisms of drug resistance remain elusive, limiting therapeutic efficacy. Here, we set out to explore

Epigenetic Dysregulation of Somatostatin Receptors (SSTR) 1–5 and Therapeutic Implications in Neuroendocrine and Non‐Neuroendocrine Malignancies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Somatostatin receptors (SSTR) mediate the antiproliferative, antisecretory, and proapoptotic effects of somatostatin and its synthetic analogs. Their surface expression on neuroendocrine tumor (NET) cells is required for somatostatin analog therapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT).

DNA Methylation and Transcriptomic Profiles of Wilms Tumour Reveal New Deregulated Genes and Epigenetic Processes Relevant for Tumour Stratification and Management

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wilms Tumour (WT), the most common kidney cancer in children, presents features of altered kidney development and frequently exhibits molecular alterations at the 11p15.5 imprinted locus, affecting the IGF2 and H19 genes, which contribute to tumour growth and predisposition.

Cold stress induces rapid gene-specific changes in the levels of H3K4me3 and H3K27me3 in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
When exposed to low temperatures, plants undergo a drastic reprogramming of their transcriptome in order to adapt to their new environmental conditions, which primes them for potential freezing temperatures. While the involvement of transcription factors
